Some of the Marbar girls got a pen upgrade today! ☀️

These girls are F1 Olive Eggers (Cream Legbar x Copper Marans) and are laying a beautiful, rich shade of green - the odd speckled and heavy bloom too.

I find the Marbars to be really inquisitive and quite smart. They very quickly become your best friend if you slip them an extra treat or two!

I plan for this pen to be for my premium Olive Eggers, so once I know who’s laying what, I’ll keep the best, boot the rest, and add some of my other favourite girls (F2 & F3). 🥰

I’ve got some sample packs on the way as well, so I can test my Olive Egger boys to ensure they’re carrying a blue gene! 🧬

𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐄𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒: Hens have all been purposely selected for laying interesting eggs (heavy blooms / speckles). Mixes of Araucana, CLB, Blue Orpingtons, Copper Marans, Welsummers & Barnevelders. Roosters are F1 Olive Eggers & Copper Marans. All lovely temperments. Offspring will lay olives, blues, pinks, greys, browns.

Some exciting finds in the pullet/POL pen this morning! F1 Olive Eggers, Easter Eggers and Copper Marans (splash) in this pen. These guys will be left to mature for a little longer before being added to any breeding pens. I think this OE girl, when I work out who she is, will definitely be added to my premium OE pen!🌻

Rainbow dozens, and day-olds (F1 & F2 OE, EE & CM) available this week! 🌈🥚🐣

🐣 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗺𝘀 🐣

(All pekins sold! Olive Eggers, Blue Copper Marans & Easter Eggers available from Friday.)

Mixed colours, unsexed (hens mostly wheaten and splash). Chance of smooth-feathered or frizzle. Rooster carries a cuckoo gene (he’s a different line to the hens), so 50% off offspring will also be cuckoo.

These guys are full of personality, yet docile. They make the best pets (or therapy chickens!). I’ve found this line to be reasonable layers (more consistent than my silkies) and are just super lovely to have around. Perfect for smaller backyards and families with young children!
