Last Tuesday, our winemakers spent the day tasting our ’25 Cabernet Sauvignon, carefully evaluating each barrique to determine its place within our Four Chambers, Estate and Specialist ranges.

At Thompson Estate, we also grow Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Every year, Paul and Kyle will trial various blends to create the ideal balance for each wine.

Our 2025 Cabernet will spend several years bottle ageing before you can get your hands on it. In the meantime, our 2021 Four Chambers and Specialist Cabernet Sauvignon are drinking exceptionally well.

For our Estate range, the 2022 vintage has just been released, and we can’t wait for you to try it!

Chardonnay is Paul’s favourite wine to make — and here you can see why.

Our Chardonnay spends 10 long months maturing in French oak barriques. When the wait is finally over, there’s nothing more rewarding than tasting the (nearly) finished product.

Every barrel brings something unique — from subtle differences between the vineyard blocks the fruit was grown on, to the individual characteristics of each cooper. Every barrel is carefully selected to create the perfect blend for both our Estate and Specialist range Chardonnay.

'Folly Spaces' by Tony Davis was recently installed at Thompson Estate Winery, in the Southwest of WA, Margaret River.

The striking, three-dimensional piece is crafted from recycled materials, including Jarrah wood and steel. Folly Spaces stimulates engagement and challenges sensory perception through its open, interactive design.

Folly Spaces is the newest addition to the Thompson Estate collection, located behind the winery gates at the front of the property.

It’s amazing how quickly the vines turn golden after vintage.

As the harvest season wraps up, the Thompson Estate vineyard begins its quiet transition into autumn. Shades of green give way to warm gold and amber, marking the end of another vintage in the heart of Wilyabrup.

This seasonal change is a reminder that great wine begins in the vineyard, shaped by the rhythm of nature and the passing of each season.
