Vasse Felix is Margaret River’s founding wine Estate and was established in 1967 by regional pioneer Dr Tom Cullity. Pristine isolation, ancient lands and twin oceans make Margaret River a wine paradise and one of the world’s greatest environments to grow ultra-premium Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. These varieties, alongside Shiraz and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends are the primary focus at Vasse Felix. All wines are estate-grown in Vasse Felix’s four Margaret River vineyards then estate-made and bottled within its state-of-the-art winemaking facility.

"Consistently among the best-value Cabernets released each year in Western Australia. This is largely Cabernet with some Malbec, which of course is the classic combination of the TOM CULLITY blend... Terrific w**e."

Today, we celebrate what is arguably Margaret River’s most important varietal, Cabernet Sauvignon, on International Cabernet Day.

From every Margaret River vintage there is a Cabernet Sauvignon by Vasse Felix, making the w**e a living time capsule of place, season, technique and culture. The regional heritage and lineage are unrivalled, with our first Cabernet made in 1972. It is an heirloom of Margaret River w**e, and a responsibility we take seriously.

"The historic, estate-grown Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon is the bellwether champion of the Margaret River region." Langton's.

Texture, temperature, the slow exchange of air. The vessel shapes the w**e long before it reaches the glass.

At the heart of our alternative vessel work is a closer understanding of varietal expression. Concrete, cocciopesto and oak vats are each chosen for their texture and inherent thermal properties, both shaping the conditions under which varietal expression develops during fermentation.

In maturation, the vessel also influences how the w**e ages and breathes. Concrete, cocciopesto and amphora are chosen for their redox potential, each material mediating the exchange of oxygen over time and guiding how a w**e evolves in the cellar.
