Over the past weekend, the team at Douglas Park Livestock had the privilege of competing in a team penning event held in Wingham, New South Wales. Over the course of two days, our team demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork, showcasing the quality of both our horses and training programs. We brought three outstanding horses to the event: Moonshine, a Thoroughbred cross stock horse; Luke, a Paint; and Bell, a Quarter Horse.

While Saturday presented some challenges for Peter, Hailey, and Rebecca, Sunday proved highly rewarding as Rebecca and her teammates secured an impressive second place finish. All horses performed exceptionally well, but we are particularly proud of Hailey and her Paint horse, Luke. Having only had Luke for three weeks, and with this being only his third ride, he adapted remarkably quickly. Despite being out of work for five months prior to joining us, Luke’s progress is a testament to the quality of care, training, and expertise we provide here at Douglas Park Livestock.

This experience underscores our commitment to developing well prepared, competitive horses and delivering outstanding results at events. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate in such competitions and continue to build our reputation as a premier livestock and equine training operation. At Douglas Park Livestock, we are dedicated to excellence in every aspect from horse acquisition and training to team performance and we look forward to many more successful events ahead.

Wingham Beef Week 2026.

We have made the decision to enter a Tarentaise x Angus heifer and a purebred Tarentaise steer into the led section. It has been an honour working with the Tarentaise breed, and I am particularly pleased to be the first to showcase a pure steer in a carcass show. Despite initial doubts, progress has been made over the past 6 days, enabling us to reach this stage.

Over the past week we have enjoyed the 5 days we have had. This year we were beyond proud of the unled heifer violet Donna and steer utile, although no ribbons were brought in with the cattle we had some success in other areas. We cannot express how proud we are of Peter and hailey over the past week not only they didn’t stay on site but they woke up at silly hours of the morning to get into the show.

Violet Donna the Tarentaise Angus heifer was placed 9th in her unled class with Lyn and Paul Fron PLR livestock taking out the light weight champion.

We are so proud of hailey for giving young judges a crack, it was her first time doing a young judges competition and she was lucky enough to make it to the speaking rounds, although hailey didn’t speak she came home with a 4th place ribbon. We are so proud of hailey for giving a crack

Unfortunately Peter wasn’t as lucky this yea with his paraders or young judges

The team at Douglas park wouod like to give a big thank you to theWingham beef comittee for putting on a fabulous show with such a good turn out of numbers

A massive thank you to Bucklebah Herefords for putting up with the cattle over the past few months

And a massive thank you to Yan and Tarentaise Australia l without his ongoing support Douglas park wouldn’t be where it’s at today

And a even bigger thank you to our team at Douglas park without the lityle team we have going it wouldn’t be possible without yous kids

I’m proud to say over the next year we will be getting to a few more shows and keeping everyone updated especially with some exciting news in the near future

Wingham Beef Week 2026.
We have made the decision to enter a Tarentaise x Angus heifer and a purebred Tarentaise steer into the led section, following a quiet period for the page over the past year. It has been an honour working with the Tarentaise breed, and I am particularly pleased to be the first to showcase a pure steer in a carcass show. Despite initial doubts, progress has been made over the past four days, enabling us to reach this stage.

We look forward to the viewing of the carcass to see how the breed hangs up, over the next few days the team will partake in the paraders and young judges competition where Peter, and Hailey will be representing Douglas Park Livestock and Addi woth Cultivate Ag.

A massive thank you to everyone who had made this possible a follow up post will be posted at the end of the week with results. Wishing everyone a good and and successful show.
