Amato Vino Amato Vino are small-batch low-intervention artisan w**emakers from Margaret River, Australia. Most w**es are unfined and unfiltered.

Amato Vino are small-batch artisan w**emakers based in the Margaret River w**e region, Western Australia. The w**emaking philosophy is ‘lo-fi’, in that we embrace wild-ferments, minimal adjustments in the w**ery, gentle handling. We are hands-on in terms of the grunt work, the care and guidance, but with a hands off approach to the science of w**emaking, using little or no inputs and employing traditional processes. An old-school approach yet with a modern flare for creativity and adventure. Established in 2003 by owner/w**emaker Brad Wehr, the labels and w**e styles have continued to grow, covering traditional Margaret River varietals through to some eclectic and unusual grape varieties and w**emaking methods.

NEW SKIVVI ‘honey steels gold’
Our 2025 skinsy Viognier Savagnin is here, this vintage with a smidge of Chardonnay (not skinsy). Viognier is oh so aromatic and pretty… Savagnin provides a lifts with its natural acidity and Chardonnay some golden generosity…

We were chuffed to get 94pt from W**e Companion’s Jane Faulkner:
“Lemon balm, Meyer lemon and grapefruit, with a hint of apricot, honeycomb, grilled nuts and fluffy lees. It feels light, yet raw silk tannins hold sway. It’s very good.”

TRAMONTO IN THE TOP 100

So this happened… our 2025 Tramonto has been named in the W**e Companion Top 100 W**es for 2026! Landing in the Taster’s Picks category where each taster chooses just one w**e that stood out for them… and Jane Faulkner chose our chilled red 🥰
 
Way back in 2020 we could sense the chilled red movement coming… and turns out we were right, with Tramonto being our number one seller.  
 
Somewhat sadly, our 2025 vintage has sold out, except for a couple of dozen we have saved at our Witchy Cellar Door (if you ask nicely, get in quick). Fear not however, we have just released our 2026 Tramonto, which is equally delish!

Our crowd fave chilled red is our first 2026 w**e in bottle! Your go-to vino for sunsets, barbecues or chillin’ on the porch or deck.

Filled with the juicy, red fruited sensations of cranberry, maraschino cherry and raspberry coulis… floral and a little spicy, savoury with soft, delightful tannins that remind you you’re still drinking a red…

Tempranillo, pink Teroldego, some Marsanne and Chardonnay for creaminess… yum!

NEW VINTAGE ALERT!
Following on from our Halliday 95pt gold 2020 vintage, our 2022 ‘the bear’ Teroldego has been chillin’ out for a while in barrel and bottle… and now it’s here!

Like a warm hug, there’s pretty rose blossom and cedar on the nose with a lush density of cherry, forest fruits and mud cake on the palette.

Serious tannins seamlessly integrated and supple. Made for wintery weeks like this one.

We’ve just released the 2023 pig Cabernet Nebbiolo and it’s oh so pretty!

The velvety black fruits of Cabernet Sauvignon meet the pretty florals, red fruits and spice of Nebbiolo with a teeny dash of Teroldego for good measure. Robust structure with juicy fruit power - perfect for winter!

The temperature is dropping. There’s constant drizzle about. Time to light the fire, get cosy and open a few bottles of red…

Check out the NEW 2022 vintage of our Teroldego ‘the bear’… a warm hug of lush dense dark fruits, a good kick of tannin with eastern spice and cherry cola. Our cellar door might even have a few bottles of the 2020 and 2018 vintages too, plus an older Cabernet Teroldego blend, for those after a museum release…

Another fave is our vibrant crowd pleaser Rosso: a juicy Teroldego, Tempranillo, Nebbiolo blend….

In our full lineup check out Cinsault, Nebbiolo, Primitivo, Sangiovese, Cabernet…all the reds!
