💧 This National Water Week, let's celebrate the resource that connects us all. 💧

Water supports our homes, businesses, environment and way of life. That's why using water wisely remains so important, especially as warmer weather approaches.

Together, small actions can make a big difference in protecting this precious resource for our communities and future generations.

Town drinking water systems are designed to provide water for everyday household use and may not be able to maintain water supply or pressure during a bushfire.

When preparing your bushfire survival plan, consider having an independent water supply. The CFA recommends a minimum of 10,000 litres of water and a non-electric pump to help protect your home if a fire occurs.

🚧 Why isn't every water leak fixed straight away?

Not all leaks have the same impact. When a leak is reported, we assess factors such as water loss, public safety, traffic impacts and whether customers' water supply is affected.

This helps us prioritise repairs and send crews where they're needed most urgently.

We appreciate your patience as our teams work to repair leaks safely and efficiently across the region. 💧

Victorians are used to all kinds of weather, but did you know Victoria has Permanent Water Saving Rules that apply all year, rain or shine?

Under the rules:

1. Always use a leak free hose with a trigger nozzle to water your garden and wash your car.
2. Sprinklers and drippers can only be used before 10am and after 6pm.
3. Don't hose concrete, paths or driveways – use a broom instead.

Head to newater.com.au/pwsr for a refresher on the full range of rules.
