Kellybrook, on the edge of Melbourne's Eastern suburbs, is a lovely oasis in the old Yarra Valley orchard belt. parkling cider from apples grown in his orchard. Today, the vines greatly outnumber the apple trees with Kellybrook being granted the Yarra Valley's first vigneron's licence in that century (1970). The winery produces an extensive range of premium quality wines, including Sparkling Blanc de Blancs and several other award-winning table wines. It is one of the few small wineries in the Yarra Valley still owned by the original family with the third generation of Kelly's now involved in the business. Kellybrook is still well-known for the apple ciders it has been producing from local fruit for the past fifty years. The first cider made at Kellybrook was the rather unique Méthode Traditionelle for which Darren won a suite of awards in the early years. For well over 20 years now, the winery has produced Kelly Brothers Ciders which are made by Phil and his brother, Gus Kelly. The ciders are all made from the pure juice of freshly pressed Victorian apples. A twice-distilled apple brandy is also produced onsite and available for purchase in the cellar door.

Siwa Sparkling Shiraz 2023

A delicious sparkling Shiraz from 2023.

Shiraz grapes hand picked from our old Fulford Road block.

We use the traditional bottle fermentation method here, matured on yeast lees for 2 years, hand riddled and disgorged, cork and wire by us here at the winery… and hand labelled. We do all our sparkling work in house using this time honoured method.

This wine is loaded with delicious red fruit, some light pepper spice, and lots of richness while still being precise and undeniably varietal.

Available now in cellar door and online.

Autumn harvest 🍂🍎

We’ve been out in our tiny orchard this week picking Pink Lady and Sour Granny apples - destined for our cider, bringing that perfect balance of sweetness and tartness.

Our grapes, which make up most of what we grow, have all been harvested too, with the vines now easing into the slower pace of autumn.

While we grow a small amount of apples here on site, most of the fruit we use for cider is sourced from other local orchards.

Now we enjoy the beautiful colours of autumn as the vineyard and orchard change to golden and deep reds.
