Red Hill Australian White Sheep Stud

Red Hill Australian White Sheep Stud Australian White Sheep - The Breed of the Future The principals of the Red Hill Stud are very excited about promoting the Australian White Sheep Breed.

At last we are seeing a unique breed of sheep that meets the Australian market requirements and is suited for varying Australian conditions. In 2011 Robert and Leanne Endacott purchased embryos from Tattykeel, Oberon and joined Australian White rams to their large self-replacing commercial flock of White Dorper ewes. The difference in the lambs was immediate, producing progeny with increased size

and strong growth rates. At Red Hill, Robert and Leanne are committed to breeding a sheep that produces a marketable lamb with excellent growth rates, stud ewes and rams with good shedding ability and hair pattern and a good temperament. Robert asks sheep producers to share in his enthusiasm of the Australian White breed and try at least one ram with a small flock of ewes and see the difference yourself. You will be impressed, it's the breed of the future.

We couldn't be more impressed with our maiden ewes this lambing.
Their temperament, mothering ability and overall performance have been next level.
This beautiful maiden has gone one step further, successfully producing twins at just 12 months of age. ❤️
We’re incredibly proud to see the quality and maternal traits we’re breeding coming through so strongly in our young ewes.

Scanning Results for Our Red Hill Ewes 🐑

▪️ 205 ewes joined in total
▪️ 80% scanned in lamb

52 ewes aged 18 months to 3 years joined
▪️ 49/52 scanned in lamb (95%)
▪️ 37 carrying multiples, 12 carrying singles
▪️ 185% scanned

153 maiden ewes aged 6–11 months joined
▪️ 115/153 scanned in lamb (74%)
▪️ 62 carrying multiples, 53 carrying singles
▪️ 154% scanned

That's 263 potential lambs out of 164 ewes with 70% of the ewes being maidens

We are pleased with these results, particularly from the young maiden ewes, which were joined during dry conditions, with the majority being just 6–7 months of age at joining.
Following was some much-needed rain, allowing the feed to get up and away.
We are looking forward to seeing how they perform through lambing. 🐑🌱
