Last month’s book club discussed FLAVOUR - through memories, favourites, and exciting ideas for flavour combinations.
This month we’re asking in your experience “Does vegan food have enough flavour?”
This playful and informative, discussion takes the flavour conversation further by framing the question around your own experiences dining out or creating your own vegan food.
For reference and guidance about what vegan food can be, we’ll dip into two fabulous cook books.
Our two vegan cookbooks are:
Melbourne’s Shannon Martinez’s 3rd cook book ‘VEGAN with BITE’, and mid north coast local Pandora Colledge’s NOURISHED BY NATURE.
Shannon is a hugely influential vegan chef (but not vegan herself) as the owner of two plant-based businesses in Melbourne - Smith + Daughters and Smith + Deli.
Pandora is a well known and respected local vegan cook, and nutritionalist who runs vegan cooking classes on the mid north coast.
Keeping in my that flavours are hard to describe and define - and very personal - let’s gather to discuss our experiences, expectations, and flavour highs about one of the least talked about cuisines.
If you don’t own either of these cookbooks you have a few options - do a search online for reviews; I will be sending ALL ticket holders a Pdf of several pages of each of their cookbooks; try your local library.
