Hi followers.

I am taking a break from cake making/decorating until further notice.

I am finding it too difficult managing work and home life with cake decorating and feel like my cakes are being rushed.

I have a cake decorating friend I am more than happy to recommend.

Remember my perfectly high, perfectly flat cake?

Well...... it got cut into random, uneven pieces to replicate a rugged iceberg!

Along with a hand made fondant penguin and paper wafer cut out penguins.

Happy birthday to my penguin loving favourite 9 year old nephew.

Do you want to build a snowman? ⛄️

My gorgeous niece turned 3 today and I offered to make a cake for the VID (very important day).

We talked about pink robots and unicorn cakes before she decided she definitely wanted a Elsa and Olaf cake and as a big Frozen fan myself I was more than happy to go with the theme.

( I may or may not have been singing the songs while decorating)

We had a delicious lunch at the birthday girls house followed by my ultimate chocolate chocolate mud .

When my mum was growing up in Campsie Sydney, she was best friends with her neighbour Don. Don met his wife Maria who also went to school with my mum.

Weddings, houses, children, traveling and all these years later they are still lifelong friends.

I was asked to make Don and Maria’s wedding anniversary cake a few years ago so naturally I was to make Maria’s birthday cake .

This cake is a While chocolate and Vanilla mud with Buttercream frosting and a pastel pink Ganache drip.

It traveled all the way to Ingleburn with caravan in tow where the birthday girl dressed the cake herself with beautiful fresh flowers.

It looks absolutely beautiful 💖🎂🌹

(Also this is the cake that was won at the Blair Dalton fundraiser)

I have a repeat client.

Let’s call him “J”

He requests a cake from me, for the first week of February every year and has done so for the last 5 or 6 years.

While he offers me support and encouragement he also expects nothing but the best from me, because to him I am the worlds best cake maker which also means his expectation is set very high.

So it’s around this time of year that my mind goes into high gear, the butterflies start fluttering and the pressure really starts to build knowing I absolutely can not let my biggest customer down.

Who is this very important customer?

My soon to be 10 year old nephew Jarrah of course.

And he loves my cakes 🎂 bats 🦇 and the colour orange 🧡

Can’t let him down... preparation is key!
