Brunswick Show 2025 was a bit more side show alley for us than previous years, but I was there for the sheep nonetheless (although i forgot to take a photo).

We entered three pens of lambs into the Trade Lamb competition and the results are in….. We came 1st, 2nd and 3rd from our three entries!

Lambs are judged on carcass weight, fat score, uniformity and confirmation at the abattoir. Then given a combined score for each pen.

There is also a champion overall individual carcass and we won this award too!

Such a fantastic competition to be able to get feedback and scoring on individual carcasses, that we can trace back to our breeding lines. It’s nice of course to be able to show that our consistency and quality is second to none too by independent judges.

This is the second year in a row that we have won our category, and will definitely be entering again next year for the aforementioned reasons.

Thanks to everyone involved at .show for putting on such a great competition and agricultural show!

Lastly, and more to come on this in the coming weeks, we will have some of our UltraWhite Ram Lambs available for sale in December so if you’re a local farmer wanting to up your carcass game in the genetics space please get in touch.

Nice to have a break in the weather to weigh lambs today. We’ve had a wet 6 weeks after a slow start to the season.
