Just a few weeks can transform an entire vineyard.

In winter, our vines are dormant. Bare canes and quiet rows may look lifeless, but beneath the surface they're conserving energy for the season ahead. This important resting period helps prepare the vines for healthy growth and another exceptional vintage.

Then spring arrives...

Tiny buds burst into vibrant green shoots, the vineyard comes alive, and the next vintage officially begins. It's one of the most exciting transformations in the vineyard, a reminder that great wine starts long before grapes are picked.

Ray Jordan Wine joined our winemaker Ellie Jarvis Eloise Jarvis in the barrel room last week tasting through the exciting 2026 Chardonnay’s, Cabernet Sauvignon along with the salt and pepper “Cabernets”, our special parcels of Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot, then sampling our sites block 5 Paladin Hill Shiraz components in various French barriques.
