Yesterday was a hot one! It felt a bit like we have skipped spring and gone straight to summer. We had a busy day, so I didn't get a chance to water my garden until sunset. But that is such a peaceful time to be outside and enjoying the cool of the evening.

Being outside is so good for the soul, we were never meant to be stuck inside. What a blessing it is to have a beautiful space to be outside in.

What is your favourite time to be out in the garden?

Living on acreage has been such a blessing and we love having the space to grow! While we are living in a semi rural area in SE QLD, housing estates are everywhere close to us and it is so sad to see how little space people get! A tiny yard with a little patch of grass. When we built the big garden, the dream was to be able to grow produce and share it with others, especially those who may not be able to afford it.

Keeping the big garden going though is a huge undertaking and I have never been able to keep up with it! I do so much better with my small house garden. And sadly for a while this garden was just growing weeds! But my mum has been working hard to keep her section going with a family friend and we have since had a few other friends express interest in wanting to have a community garden as such and grow produce and share with others! It has been a blessing to see this garden thriving and that vision we had come into fruition.

Acts 20:35 NKJV
And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, β€˜It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

What do you have, that you can use to share or help others?

Many you have been following along with our bees and in the past few months, varroa mite has hit SE QLD hard and many hives have been lost. We are backyard beekeepers and we had 12 hives in total and lost 11 to the varroa mite.

Thankfully we have been blessed to be able to save just one hive and we are happy to say that they are doing well!! We did a check today and they are thriving! We had to add more frames to keep them busy as we are in the last week of a warm winter so spring is pretty much here. They are so happy and we are talking about maybe doing a split in the coming weeks. God has truly blessed as we need the pollinators especially for our fruit orchard so it is so good to see the bees doing well!

You may be wondering why I haven't done any videos of inside the hive - last time I got stung, I ended up in ED, so I have to becareful but will get my hubby to do some videoing of the bees soon!

This past weekend we were honoured to host a wedding reception for two wonderful friends of ours. This is the second wedding we have had and it is a privilege to be able to share with others what God has blessed us with. Ever since we got our property our thoughts have always been how we can help others or share this space with. God is good and we need to return that goodness on to others.

Our property is on a hill but there is a beautiful flat spot down the bottom that is perfect to hang out on and with some lighting and cozy fires, it turned into a magical evening. The weather even held out.

Congratulations M&J! We love you guys and it was an honour to be a part of your special day.
