It takes a special person to be a dad.

But it takes an even more special person to be the kind of dad that Dan is. 🤍
Most of you know Dan as the man behind Trader & Co. You see the business owner, the boss, the person who somehow always has another idea brewing, and the man who cares so deeply about this little community we get to call home.

But I get to see the version of Dan that I’m most proud of.
I see the dad who shows up.
The one who gives our kids his time, his patience and his whole heart. The one who makes them laugh, teaches them, listens to them, backs them and makes sure they know, without question, that Dad will always be there.

And amongst the busyness of running businesses, leading a team and giving so much of himself to our community, he somehow never makes his family feel like we’re getting whatever is left over.
We get the best of him too.
And I think that says everything about the man he is.

Our kids are incredibly lucky to have you, Dan. But I hope you know how lucky I feel to get a front-row seat to the dad you’ve become and the relationship you’re building with them.
There are plenty of things you’ve achieved that I know you’re proud of.
But I truly believe the way your kids look at you will always be your greatest one.

Of all the things we could be recognised for, this one feels incredibly special.

And a huge congratulations to all of the incredible finalists and businesses who attended last night. Being surrounded by so many passionate people doing wonderful things across South East NSW made the evening even more special.

Ten years into this crazy little journey, moments like this really do make it all worth it.

Another month, another little jar making a difference. 💚

Our August Tip Jar tally is in, and together our beautiful Yass community raised $32.15 for Evangelique Aniversario and the Australian Sports Foundation.

Every coin dropped into that jar might seem small on its own, but this is exactly why we love our Tip Jar initiative. When a whole community gets behind someone, those small acts of generosity become something much bigger.

To every person who added their change throughout August, thank you. Whether it was 20 cents, $2 or a little more, you helped us support Evangelique and her journey.

We feel incredibly lucky to be part of a community that continues to show up for one another, month after month.

Ten years of early mornings and freshly brewed coffee. Ten years of meals shared around our tables. Ten years of familiar faces becoming friends, little ones growing up before our eyes, incredible team members walking through our doors, and countless moments that have made Trader & Co feel like so much more than a café.

And we’ve never been prouder of what this little Yass community has helped us create. 🤍
To every single person who celebrated our birthday month with us, thank you. And an extra special thank you to everyone who joined us for our birthday event last weekend. Seeing so many of you there celebrating this milestone alongside us meant more than we could ever put into words.

Trader & Co wouldn’t be Trader & Co without the people who fill it every day.

Trader & Co has officially been named the National Winner for Best Cafe Experience in the Australian Dining Awards 2026! 🎉
AND… we’ve also received 2 Plate Recognition. ✨

After celebrating 10 years of Trader & Co this month, this feels like an incredibly special little cherry on top.
For us, Trader has never just been about serving great coffee and wholesome food. It’s about the way you feel when you walk through our doors. It’s knowing your name, remembering your coffee order, creating a place to catch up with friends, bring the family, get some work done or simply take a moment for yourself.

To have that experience recognised on a national level means more to us than we can say. 🤍
