🎉🎂 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR AMAZING GIRL! 🎂🎉❤️

Where has the time gone?! 🥹❤️ 16 already!

Today we're celebrating a very special girl who is not only growing into a beautiful young woman but is also a huge part of what makes Pasture Pals Animal Sanctuary what it is. 🐐🐑🐴💕

She helps so much with the daily care of our animals, giving her time, love and attention to the many furry (and feathered!) residents who call Pasture Pals home. And she's also the talented photographer behind so many of our photos! 📸❤️

Of course, getting the perfect photo isn't always easy when your models have four legs, fluffy faces and absolutely no concept of personal space! 😂🐐🐑 As you can see in this video, sometimes the animals are a little TOO enthusiastic about being part of the photoshoot! 🤣❤️

We're so grateful to have her by our side, helping care for our beautiful residents and capturing so many special moments along the way. These animals are lucky to have her, and we're so proud of the caring, compassionate young woman she's becoming. ❤️

Happy 16th birthday, sweetheart! 🥳🎂 May your year ahead be filled with happiness, laughter, love, beautiful memories and all the wonderful things you deserve.

We're still looking for loving, suitable homes for lots of our gorgeous goats and a few of our beautiful sheep at Pasture Pals Animal Sanctuary! 🏡💚

They all have their own little personalities, quirks and stories, and we'd love nothing more than to see them settled into homes where they can live their best lives. 🥰

🐐❤️ MEET LITTLE LENNY! ❤️🐐

Yesterday, this tiny newborn boy was found by some workers near a cliff edge, with no mum in sight. 😢

We went back about two hours later to see if mum had returned, but there were no goats anywhere to be seen. 💔

So, of course, little Lenny came home with us! 🫶🏻❤️

He's settling in beautifully, taking to the bottle like a champ, and he's already showing us his cheeky little personality! 🍼🥰 He loves to play and is the cuddliest little boy.

While we're always hoping mums will return for their babies, we couldn't leave this tiny guy out there, especially so close to a cliff edge. ❤️

Welcome to Pasture Pals, little Lenny! You're safe now, sweetheart. 🏡🐐❤️

Another little life, another little story, and another reminder of why we do what we do. 🫶🏻

🐐💚 MEET SEBASTIAN! 💚🐐

This handsome little man is Sebastian, a nearly 1-year-old Nigerian Dwarf (cross?) wether who's looking for his forever home! 🏡❤️

Sebastian is a funny little character with plenty of personality! 😂 He's playful, curious and will happily come up to you when you've got food in your hands! 🥬😋 That's your chance to sneak in a little pat! 😉

He's still a bit scared of people, so he's not quite a cuddly goat just yet. With a patient family who gives him time, kindness and plenty of positive experiences, hopefully he'll learn that humans aren't so scary after all. ❤️

🏡 WE’RE LOOKING FOR OUR NEXT HOME FOR PASTURE PALS 🐐🐑❤️

As many of you know, the property we currently call home is going up for sale soon, which means we're already on the hunt for somewhere new for Pasture Pals Animal Sanctuary.

We’re hoping to find a long-term rental property where we can continue rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for animals who need a second chance; mainly sheep and goats, but also our chickens, cats and dogs.

We know our wish list is a big one 😅 but we're hoping that somewhere out there, there might just be a property that could be the right fit, and we're open to locations we haven't considered yet!

🌿 Ideally we're looking for: • 2+ bedroom house
• 15+ acres of usable land (bigger acreage preferred)
• Existing sheds or suitable structures for animal care/storage
• Fencing, or the potential to add/improve fencing
• Flood-free land
• Minimum 2-year lease, preferably longer-term
• Within roughly 60 minutes of the coast
• Anywhere from Narooma up towards the Gold Coast, but we're open to other areas too!
• Off-grid is absolutely fine
• Backing onto bushland would be a bonus 🌳

And we're not just looking for somewhere to put animals.
We'd love to eventually create vegetable gardens, plant fruit trees and make the property a beautiful, productive and sustainable little home for both the animals and our family. 🌱🍎

We're also more than happy to put work into a property. We take pride in looking after where we live and are willing to assist with fencing, property maintenance, building animal shelters and general upkeep where appropriate.

We're respectful, reliable tenants with excellent references and have poured our hearts into caring for the properties we've lived on.

❤️ We are also open to caretaking opportunities.

FOSTER HOME FOUND!

💔 Two tiny orphans arrived last night…

Meet Josie & Khaleesi 🐑❤️

These two little girls are only 3 days old and sadly, their mum has passed away. They’ve come into Pasture Pals needing round-the-clock care, bottles, warmth and lots of love.

And as much as I absolutely adore these little babies, I can’t be everywhere at once. I’m working to pay for the care of all our animals, while also looking after them, so I’m desperately looking for a little bit of help. 🥺

🌿 We’re looking for either:

🏡 A foster home; someone experienced who could take Josie & Khaleesi in and care for them while they’re little.

🍼 A bottle-feeding helper; someone local who could come and help feed them when I’m at work. Even helping with a couple of feeds would make a HUGE difference.

❤️ Or an experienced bottle-feeder who may be interested in adopting them, keeping these two sisters together would be absolutely wonderful.

They are only 3 days old, so they need someone who understands the commitment involved with newborn bottle babies. They’ll need frequent feeds, warmth, monitoring and lots of care while they grow.

I’m bloody angry.

Actually… I’m fu***ng exhausted.

Exhausted from seeing animals suffer because people can’t be bothered to do the absolute basics.

Last week, I was out getting animals off the road because someone couldn’t be bothered fixing their fences. Animals were escaping and putting themselves at risk of being hit by traffic.

And today… another phone call.

A local farm we’ve had quite a few dealings with over the last few weeks.
One of the goats there is actually a goat that we previously had in our care.

When we got the call that she was in great distress, we got her straight to the Camden University Vet.

She is now fighting for her life and has a 50/50 chance of surviving.

And while this poor girl is lying at the vet fighting to stay alive, the main concern seems from the farm manager is to get her 7 week old baby back as quickly as possible so she can be put into a paddock full of goats without protection.

Later during the week I'm also checking some sheep and alpacas at another place that are not being fed and the owner doesn't want to shear them (WTF!!).

I honestly don’t fu***ng understand it.

How can you look at an animal and NOT care?

How can you watch an animal become sick, injured or distressed and think, “Oh well”?

How can paying a vet bill be more important than the life of the animal standing in front of you?

These animals didn’t choose you.
They didn’t choose where they live.
They didn’t choose what they eat.
They can’t fix their own fences.
They can’t call the vet.
They can’t tell you they’re in pain.
They rely on us.

COMPLETELY.

And I’m sorry, but caring for an animal is not rocket science.

Clean water
Appropriate food
Safe fencing
Shelter
Protection
Basic observation
And veterinary care when they need it

That’s it.

They deserve that much.

I spend so much of my life, my time, my energy and my own money trying to give our animals the care they deserve.

We take in the ones people have failed.

We bottle-feed babies.
We get up through the night.
We sit beside sick animals.
We pay the vet bills.
We fight for animals that have no voice.

And we do it because THEY MATTER.

So when we rehome one of our animals, we are trusting someone else with a life that we have loved, cared for and fought for.

And honestly?

Days like today make me want to stop rehoming altogether.

Because rehoming an animal isn’t giving someone a cute goat or a fluffy sheep.

It’s handing them a LIFE.

A living, breathing being that feels pain, fear, stress and love.

And if you aren’t prepared to take responsibility for that life, then PLEASE don’t get an animal.

Don’t tell me you “love animals” if you aren’t prepared to actually care for them.

Because loving animals isn’t cuddling them when they’re cute.

It’s fixing the bloody fence.

It’s knowing what they should and shouldn’t eat.

It’s noticing when something isn’t right.

It’s making the phone call.

It’s paying the vet bill.

It’s getting up at 2am when they need you.

It’s putting THEIR needs before your convenience.

It really isn’t that hard to give a damn.

And right now, I’m just hoping and praying that this beautiful girl pulls through.

Because she deserves the chance.

They ALL do. ❤️🙏🏻
