Another thing I’ll miss: these fleeting shadows on our wall.

It’s a very particular set of circumstances; the right-height car parked in the right bay within a particular 20-minute period (if you’re lucky!), on a cloudless morning, for the light to bounce onto our front window.

The joy is in the rarity. ✨

So many of you have seen me race to take a photo of it before it disappears, but too often it teases its presence for just a minute or two, & I’m left with a photo of a white wall 😂

In case you’re wondering, this is a (very) rough guide:
Taller cars in Sept/Oct/Mar/Apr in 3rd bay between 7.20-7.40am, small cars in 3rd bay at 8.30ish
Small cars in Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb in 2nd bay between 7am-7.20am

🩷 Two years ago I had a dream to bring a little extra sunshine to the Yokine community. I wanted to created a space where people could drop in for what they needed; a fun drink, a caffeine hit, a protein smoothie, a friendly face, a pep talk, a listening ear.

🧡 It has been a wild & fulfilling endeavour, but the time has come to say goodbye to Lid & Cup for now.

💛 It has been a joy to serve this community 6 days a week for the past 2 years, & I feel so lucky to have had your support over this time.

🩵 Our doors will close for the final time on Sunday, September 3rd. We hope to see you before then.

💜 It’s not a secret that these last few years haven’t been easy for small businesses, & your local businesses need your support now more than ever. Look after your neighbours & support the small businesses of Yokine.
