🌾 What a great day at the Liebe Group Field Day in Kalannie!
It was fantastic to see such strong support from both industry and growers, all coming together to talk research, agronomy and the future of farming in the region.
🌱 Living Farm’s Richard Devlin and Rishi Das presented on our GRDC-supported project Early Sown Oats – Agronomy, Management and Profitability in the Kwinana and Geraldton Regions
🌱 Living Farm’s Richard Devlin and Orna Tippett shared insights on the Agriculture Victoria (AGVIC) - supported project on Heat Stress in Lentils
Thanks to for hosting a great event and to (Grains Research & Development Corporation) for their continued support of this important research.
Days like this are what it's all about – connecting research with the people who put it into practice on farm. 🚜

A great afternoon in Beacon last week exploring the latest cereal variety and agronomy research in the paddock.

Growers had the opportunity to walk through the Time of Sowing Oats Trial, comparing early and main-season sowing across six oat varieties, two wheat comparisons and three seeding rates.

The group also visited the Beacon GRDC NVT Cereal Site, looking at current wheat and barley varieties and how they are performing under local conditions.

A big thank you to Matu from LRPB - LongReach Plant Breeders and Georgia from for joining us and sharing insights into the varieties featured in the trials.

Thanks to everyone who came along, asked questions and contributed to a great afternoon of discussion and learning!

Spring Field Day wrap-up – York

What a day! Around 40 growers joined us last Tuesday for the AgCollab Spring Field Day in and around York, getting a first-hand look at the latest wheat varieties and trial results.
A big thank you to Grains Research and Development Corporation for funding the 3 trials presented exploring legumes, and to InterGrain Cereal Breeding, LRPB - LongReach Plant Breeders and RAGT for their speakers who talked us through our independent variety trials.
We also heard from Christopher Watts, BNI Trial Manager, about his exciting project (sponsored by InterGrain) looking into biological nitrification inhibition in wheat.
Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a valuable day.

Not your usual crop check!

This morning, Dave got to see the Avon Valley and his property from a whole new angle as he took to the skies.
Dave has been a fantastic supporter of Living Farm over the years, generously opening his farm to our research and always offering to help us get the job done. We’re incredibly grateful for his ongoing support and the role he plays in helping us deliver research in the region.
It was great to be able to say thank you in a slightly different way and hopefully give him a morning to remember!

A huge thanks to Team Jenna Hot Air Balloon Team for making it such a great experience and for getting Dave and Sophie safely up, around and back down again.
