Howdy Folks,

Have a listen.........

Just reminiscing from our last harvest and man, it was a huge pinch me moment. We were surrounded by some very special people who bore witness to it, helped celebrate it, and used the hops in some very special beers.

We are grateful for the support! πŸΊπŸΊβ€οΈπŸŒ²πŸ‹β€πŸŸ©πŸ‹πŸπŸΊπŸΊ

This was a massive team effort on many fronts and the elation was something else, along with the relief, and it shows that bloody hard work can pay off.

Nothing comes from nothing and Family means everything ❀️πŸ’ͺ

Something is in the pipeline, so brewers keep an eye on your inbox and or spam over coming days.

Ps don't judge the shot gun, was a tad buggered by this stage and totally fu**ed it. Oh, well!

Cheers

Howdy Folks,

It is temperatures like this, and that we get for sustained periods through winter, that help set our crowns and rhizomes up for success for the impending season, and is roughly between 400- 800 hours that is required to set our nodes up for vigorous growth during Spring. Think stone fruit that need a certain amount of chill factor to set the nodes for the flowers to bloom etc.

We are grateful for the terroir of our farm and that of Yornup, WA. It is perfect for growing hops.

It is a cold but magical time of year, were we're wearing lots of layers walking out into the paddocks. Lol, but start shedding as the sun gets higher in the sky.

Annnnnnd, it is not a good time to be a big thick stout, just saying! πŸ‘πŸΊ

Thank you for following and supporting our independent family run, hop growing operation. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Cheers,
South West Hops

Howdy Folks,

This post is an invitation, firstly (details below), and secondly, an appreciation of the quality of our hops and how our local terrior influences their properties, such as Alpha/Beta Acids, Cohumulone and Terpenes that are unique to our local environment, and stands us apart from other growing conditions in Western Australia.

Our soil biodiversity is rich, as is our health of our plants.

Whilst our plants may be dormant, our w**d management and plant rhizome management continues with vigour.

We can't wait for the impending season where we can, finally, offer a full range of products, Whole Wet Cone, Whole Dried Cones and T90 Pellets in nitrogen purge vac sealed Mylar bags via our fully integrated processing system with in one shed.

The dried cones and pellets will come with a full Certificate of Analysis, direct from America, to enable you to fully utilise our locally grown Western Australian Hops in your locally produced Beers.

Locals supporting locals. Bloody Brilliant!🍺πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸπŸŒ²πŸ‹β€πŸŸ©πŸ‹

Now; Brewers, Breweries and Legends that support the industry please keep, Saturday 16th of January 2027 clear.

We are continuing our traditional brewers harvest party, but this time it will be held prior to harvest so we can show you around, put one of our pigs on a spit and enjoy a few beers under the stars, without the pressure of harvest. Bring your swag, tent or caravan. There is plenty of space.

It is a hell of a shin dig with many brewery mates who have attended previous iterations can a test to that and we feel it just keeps getting better.

What happens on farm, stays on farm. πŸ˜‰ πŸ‘

Cheers to the beers,
South West Hops

Howdy Folks,

Just some glorious views from the South West of Western Australia, in Yornup, of our expanding hop yard.

We have begun the trellis installation.! πŸ‘πŸ’ͺπŸ‘πŸΊEyelets are placed at the top of each, out side pole to create the tension/support to whole system.

Next step is screw the anchors down 1.5 metres to provide the best anchorage/ tension for the supporting/ carrying wires.

Our hops will have some great supportive trellis systems to grow on, well into the future. πŸŒ²πŸ‹πŸ‹β€πŸŸ©πŸπŸ»πŸ»πŸ»

On another note, the soil and pasture are looking spectacular.

We have applied lime and gypsum to sweeten the soil (lifting the pH), and then we have cut the pasture, and allowed it to break down which helps to build organic matter, increase carbon storage, and this has been repeated over the last many seasons.

This helps our girls to be better able to withstand any issues that mother nature decides to throw our way, grow with vigour and just look and smell beautiful.

Not long now and we're into winter with lot's of jobs to be done, in the yard and around the farm.

Thank you to your support and following of our journey. ❀️

Cheers,
South West Hops

Howdy Folks,

Just a post to acknowledge the breweries who believe in our, Family managed, Hop growing venture, and have supported us with collaborative beers this season.

You're a bunch of Legends and we thank you from the bottom of our empty glasses. 🍺🍺🍺

Paddock to Pint in every glass. BRILLIANT!!!

The beers are a perfect expression of this seasons Wet Hops used through the brewing process. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

We can't wait for next season, and we have an enormous amount of work to be done in the meantime ensuring we continue to grow our product range and volumes.

Thanks again,

Cheers from

Howdy Folks,

Just a few images of our set up after a walk around the farm.

We are super happy with the new solar water pump set up, this ensures our plants will have all that they need during the growing season. Thanks Solar Dave of Boyup Brook. Great job.

This time of year is magical, with warmish days and cool nights. The work is on!!!. πŸ˜€πŸΊ

Cheers to your support.

Howdy Folks,

Another update on our steady progress.

This has been long in making, with the dam built a few years ago, and today we had the solar water pump installed by Solar Dave of Boyup Brook.

We are grateful for the Native Forest Transition Grants that has enabled this water movement and storage capability.

Quality equipment that will provide many years of service. Thanks, Mate. Pipework to the tank is next.

This body of water will be used to fill our new tank and supplement our current water supply in addition to the rain water, and it will be connected to the existing head tank and reticulation/ fertigation system that will ensure we have the water volumes required to hydrate our girls through the growing season.

Cheers to your following, of our family run hop farm, we are grateful.
