Howdy Folks,

Just some snaps of our beautiful solar pump in action.

It has been connected to our second storage system that will be tied into our reticulation system.

Jobs on!

Our thirsty plants will have all that they need heading into the impending season and that is a massive relief.

A big shout out to Solar Dave for the outstanding work regarding our solar set up.

This system helps us reduce our reliance on fossil fuels as we do all we can to reduce our carbon footprint whilst growing, local magnificent hops, in the South West of Western Australia

Howdy Folks,

Been a big few days, almost a kilometre of pipe laid and buried, just over a kilometre of 10 mm stainless hung, with more to go.

A shout out to our boys, who have been down and pumped out the work, bloody outstanding efforts from both of them. The excavator was worked hard with pipes finally buried and our hop water supplies increased 10 fold.

Happy, hoppy days ahead.

Cheers to you and your following of our journey!🍺

Howdy Folks,

Just reminiscing from last season when our mates came down, helped with the harvest and hung out on the farm.

The hops smelt ready, the beers were cold and the camaraderie was next level.

We love it when the breweries/ brewers come down and see first hand the harvest equipment, our plants hanging on the bines, rub n smell the cones releasing all the aromas and feel the tackiness, on a local Western Australian hop farm.

It is so fu***ng, cool and doesn't get any fresher.

If you want to experience this then.....

We have our Beer and Bines being held on the 16th of Jan where you the brewer/ brewery can come down experience the same, enjoy camping over night, eat some pork off the Portuguese BBQ and enjoy some bloody cold beers.

Watch out for the invite, and if you have not received it, please reach out. We need an RSVP for catering purposes.

Cheers,
South West Hops

Howdy Folks,

Another week done and progress is slow, but sure.

Next week has us hang the main support wires and then vertical support wires which the coir rope, from Sri Lanka, hang on.

We then will plant out, the nearly additional 4 acres, from our existing yard and cuttings.

Everyday is a step closer to fulfilling our business plans, continuing to grow exceptional hops and having year round supply of nitrogen purged vacuum sealed hop products.

Love this time of year!

Cheers to you and our progress,

South West Hops

Howdy Folks,

We are absolutely in love with this magnificent WHE 220 Wolfharvester built in Germany and literally has been around the world. Now residing in Yornup, Western Australia.

We are working in the yard today, anchors in, turn buckle attachment next then we run the stainless steel 10mm wire to provide tension across the expanding yard.

Progress continues!

Have a cracker weekend, and remember to

Cheers

Howdy Folks,

We are looking forward to saying gday to you this Friday. 🍺🍺🍺🍺

And a little about what is coming from this spring.

From dormancy comes the shoots that race upwards growing up to 5 metres within the season. Then the laterals develop bringing our gorgeous flowers.

Flowers start as burrs then mature into cones and that takes roughly 7- 8 weeks. πŸŒ²πŸ‹β€πŸŸ©πŸπŸ‹πŸ‹β€πŸŸ©πŸŒ²πŸπŸ‹

Then we are into harvest!. πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ🍺🍺πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

Want to learn more about our hops, come say G'day at the conference this Friday, at The Esplanade Hotel Fremantle.

Hope to see you there,

Western Australian Brewers Association

Cheers,

Howdy Folks,

Just a post to acknowledge the breweries who believe in our, Family managed, Hop growing venture, and have supported us with collaborative beers this season.

You're a bunch of Legends and we thank you from the bottom of our empty glasses. 🍺🍺🍺

Paddock to Pint in every glass. BRILLIANT!!!

The beers are a perfect expression of this seasons Wet Hops used through the brewing process. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

We can't wait for next season, and we have an enormous amount of work to be done in the meantime ensuring we continue to grow our product range and volumes.

Thanks again,

Cheers from

Howdy Folks,

Another update on our steady progress.

This has been long in making, with the dam built a few years ago, and today we had the solar water pump installed by Solar Dave of Boyup Brook.

We are grateful for the Native Forest Transition Grants that has enabled this water movement and storage capability.

Quality equipment that will provide many years of service. Thanks, Mate. Pipework to the tank is next.

This body of water will be used to fill our new tank and supplement our current water supply in addition to the rain water, and it will be connected to the existing head tank and reticulation/ fertigation system that will ensure we have the water volumes required to hydrate our girls through the growing season.

Cheers to your following, of our family run hop farm, we are grateful.
