Mr William John Eastlake known as Bill

Passed away peacefully on 8th September 2026 at the Young Hospital surrounded by loving family. Beloved husband of 72 years of Leila. Devoted father and father in law of Alison & John (deceased) Gilbert, Gilly & Mark Bryant, Joy & Andrew Lemon and Mandy & Craig Rogerson. Cherished Grandad of grandchildren James, William, Tom, Pip, Edward, Polly, Chelsea, Hayley, Cameron and Lucy and great grandchildren Anthea, Penelope, Zac, Jasper, Chloe, Tj, James, Abigail, Henry, Matilda, George, Alice, Mark, Lachlan, Laurent, Edward, William and Evie.

Aged 93 Years
Rest In Peace

An Anglican service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Friday 18th September 2026, at St John’s Anglican Church Young, commencing at 11.00am. The cortege will then leave for the Young Lawn Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

To all our friends and family, it is with sadness that we share that the Patriarch of the Eastlake family, William "Bill" Eastlake passed away this morning. Bill grew up at Fairfield's, farming the land throughout his life and planted our first cherry trees back in the 60s and grew the cherry operation at Fairfield's supplying cherries across Australia and internationally. We have all been blessed by Bill in our lives and he will be very missed by many in the community including his wife of 72 years, Leila, 4 daughters, their spouses, 10 grandchildren and their spouses and 18 great-grandchildren.

Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. 8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. James 5:7-8

Beautiful sunny days in the Hilltops Region sees some great fruit being picked at Eastlake's Family Tree with our fresh back in stock this morning.
It's been difficult to keep up with demand over the last few weeks and it's easy to see why!
A beautiful deep red colour, lovely and aromatic, these are just beautiful and have really benefited from the recent rains couples with the lovely Hilltops sun.
