Located in the delightful Hilltops Region near Young, New South Wales, Australia, Grove Estate have quietly built an international following for their w**es, which include traditional French and Italian varietals, all multi award winning w**es. The extraordinary partnership of viticulturist Brian Mullany with w**emakers Tim Kirk and Bryan Martin has resulted in a run of notable w**es that have produced exciting results at many W**e Shows across Australia. One Hero product is our Shiraz Viognier, as well as some superb Italian varieties - Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Barbera and wonderful traditional varieties that compliment the range.

“Maggie’s Marg” pouring every Friday & Saturday at Grove Estate! 🍸

Our incredible bartender, Maggie, has put her own little twist on the classic Margarita, inspired by her Kiwi and Australian roots.

Her secret? Just a splash of syrup made with Mānuka honey!

Reposado tequila, fresh lime juice, Mānuka honey and a zesty chilli-lime rim.

Mānuka is a flowering plant native to both New Zealand and Australia, famous for producing some pretty incredible honey. A lovely little nod to Maggie’s heritage!

Just a touch of honey softens the sharp acidity of fresh lime, adding a little richness and rounding out the flavour without losing everything we love about a classic Margarita. Still zesty, still refreshing, just that little bit smoother.

Here’s Brian and Vince standing in front of one of our newest sustainability projects at Grove Estate, our biochar unit.

Each year, pruning the vineyard leaves us with a large amount of woody material. Instead of treating those prunings as waste, the biochar unit heats them at very high temperatures in a low-oxygen environment and converts part of that material into biochar.

That biochar can then be returned to the vineyard soils, where the carbon remains stable for much longer than it would through normal decomposition or burning. It’s one small way we can keep more carbon in the ground, make better use of what already comes from the vineyard and reduce our overall footprint.

Biochar may also help improve water and nutrient retention in the soil, which makes it a pretty interesting project for us as we learn more about how it can be used across the property.

We’re still learning plenty about the process, but it’s one of several sustainability projects currently taking shape at Grove.

Next up, some chooks could be nice! Imagine the kitchen scraps going to the chooks, then those eggs coming back into the cellar door for tiramisu and cocktails. That’s the kind of cycle we like.

It’s finally happening!

As our customers have wished for over the years, Grove Estate is finally opening its doors into the evening.

From the October Long Weekend, join us every Friday and Saturday evening for cocktails, wood-fired pizzas and good w**e until 8pm throughout the warmer months. There will be a few exceptions when we are closed for private events, so bookings are essential.
