Buying flowers can do more than brighten a room-it can help strengthen the community behind every stem. At Roseburra Flower Farm, each farm-made bunch is grown, picked and prepared by an Australian-owned, operated and staffed team. From fresh blooms in our tunnels to carefully wrapped bouquets ready to go, your choice supports local growers, local jobs and the people who care for these flowers from seedling to sale. Thank you for choosing blooms with a bigger story. Have a look in the comments to see where our flowers have been sent today, and keep sharing the love for locally grown flowers.

Spring planting starts long before anything goes in the ground. Today we’re getting one of the tunnel's shaped and ready for the season ahead using the old Massey Ferguson, a rotary hoe and the bed former.

There is plenty of prep work happening behind the scenes at this time of year, but every job like this gets us one step closer to a tunnel full of flowers. What are you getting ready to plant this spring?

**The flowers are the pretty part. This is the part that keeps them alive.**

Once our cut flowers are planted, this irrigation and fertigation system becomes the heartbeat of the farm. It delivers water where it’s needed, when it’s needed — and allows us to feed the plants through the irrigation line with the nutrients they need to grow strong stems, healthy foliage and quality blooms.

Sunshine, soil and hard work will always matter, but consistent water and nutrition are what help us take care of thousands of plants through changing weather, hot days and every stage of growth. One missed watering or a system problem can quickly show up in the crop — which is why keeping pumps, filters, valves and lines running properly is just as important as planting the flowers in the first place.

It might not look glamorous, but behind every bunch of fresh-cut flowers is a whole lot of plumbing, pressure, maintenance and problem-solving.

**Flowers don’t just happen - they’re grown, monitored and cared for every single day.**

What’s something behind the scenes of farming that people might not realise takes so much work?

The farm is showing off today. 🌸 These beautiful snapdragons look like tiny little dragons waking up in the sunshine. Nature really does create the best colours.

Would you grow these in your garden? 🌿

It’s not always just pretty flowers in the tunnel's - today we’re on pest patrol. While caterpillars are sunbaking on the snapdragons, Joe, Bernie the farm cat, and I are checking the chrysanthemums for red shoulder beetles before they make their way to the lisianthus. Flower farming is a team effort.

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there.

Whether you spent the day with family, out in the garden, or simply enjoying a bit of peace and quiet, we hope it was a good one. We had a relaxing day by the lake with the family-and now it’s back to the flowers.

The Lisianthus are starting to show their colours, and we couldn’t be more excited. With buds developing beautifully, we’re hoping to see these turn into cut flowers in just a couple of weeks. Watch this space.
