This January 2026, a delegation of Chefs spent 10 days in Tokyo to evaluate the quality of Japanese food products, as part of the Monde Selection evaluation process.
Throughout these tasting sessions, the outstanding reputation of Japanese companies for quality, precision and consistency was once again confirmed.

In 2026, the Monde Selection Annual Awards Ceremony will take place at the Quai d’Orsay, Paris — an emblem of diplomacy, heritage, and international distinction.

Overlooking the Seine, this historic institution, home to the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, will welcome award recipients in its grand, art-filled rooms — spaces rarely open to the public.

Gold and Grand Gold winners took the stage to receive diplomas, celebrate quality recognised by an independent jury of 120+ experts, and mark the start of three years of global label rights — a trust signal now used by over 6,500 companies worldwide

From Taiwan’s high-mountain leaves to Turkey’s coastal plantations, from Japan’s bottled sencha to China’s ancient white tea trees, and the floral notes of Anhui’s jasmine, the 2025 Monde Selection brought together diverse tea traditions under one shared standard of quality. Every year, Monde Selection gathers over 120 sector-specific experts — Michelin-star chefs, zythologists, water sommeliers, oenologists, nutritionists, cosmetic chemists, dermatologists, and regulatory professionals — in Brussels to evaluate products. These jurors travel from key markets, including China, Japan, and Taiwan, to bring authentic cultural and commercial context to each assessment. Products are never compared against each other but judged individually, with full knowledge of their origin, composition, target market, and regulations, ensuring results that are both globally credible and locally relevant

Kobe’s "Maho No Tsubo Pudding" from Japan, Epirus Kostilatas Springs from Greece Πηγές Κωστηλάτας στην Ήπειρο, and India’s Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin Jaisalmer Gin all had something in common in 2025: three years after earning their Monde Selection label, they chose to come back. Not because the award had faded from memory — but because it had reached the end of its three-year validity. Reapplying meant placing their product once again before independent experts, ready to prove that nothing had been lost in quality… or that any changes still met the highest standards. In some cases, criteria and industry benchmarks had shifted, reflecting new sector developments and evolving consumer expectations.
