A comparative study in Phatthalung Province, Thailand examined soil quality differences between Rubber Agroforestry (RF) and Rubber Monoculture (RM) plantations.

Key findings:
• Organic matter: +25% in agroforestry (3.30% vs 2.63% OM, 0–30 cm).
• Nutrients: higher total N, K, Ca, Mg in agroforestry; P shows no significant difference.
• Vegetation cover (NDVI 2017–2023): 63% (agroforestry) vs 58% (monoculture).

We are proud to be working alongside the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT) to shape a more sustainable and resilient future for natural rubber.

Earlier this year, Moreganic® and the RAOT signed an agreement to promote biodiversity-aligned rubber farming under the Moreganic® Standard. Their vision goes beyond the environmental benefits of the certification, and also includes:

Research shows that biodiversity in an agroforestry system improves soil health, boosts moisture and water retention, and strengthens ecosystem balance. For rubber, this means more stable latex yields, healthier farms, and longer-term resilience.

This is how RAOT is addressing the future of its rubber industry and climate change mitigation at a local level, linking farmer livelihoods, ecosystem health, and industry sustainability.

Moreganic and Control Union have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to evolve natural latex certification. This agreement begins the structured transition of GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard) chain-of-custody into the Moreganic® Rubber Farm Management Standard.

This ensures continuity for certified supply chains while expanding the benefits for:

✅Farmers – stronger livelihoods and empowerment.
✅Nature – measurable biodiversity impact.
