Lawrenta Omono Onipede (née Okosun) is the Lead Artist of Omono Arts and Crafts Studio, where she transforms paper into timeless sculptures that celebrate the beauty, heritage, and spirit of Africa.

Growing up with dyslexia, she discovered early that while she learned differently, she also saw differently. What others overlooked, she imagined. What she imagined, she created. Today, through paper clay and papier-mâché, she tells Africa's stories—preserving culture, celebrating everyday life, and showcasing the beauty of God's creation one masterpiece at a time.

Her creativity also extends to Lawrenta's Delights, where she crafts exceptional celebration cakes, handcrafted fruit juices, and other delightful creations with the same commitment to excellence and beauty.

Together with her husband, Jerome Yaovi Onipede, she co-hosts A Taste of Heaven Private Retreats, helping couples, families, and individuals build stronger relationships and meaningful lives.

Lawrenta is a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished mother-in-law, and grateful grandmother. She believes every work of art should tell a story, preserve a legacy, and bring delight to those who experience it.

Three daughters. Three unique personalities. One unbreakable bond.

This sculpture celebrates the quiet beauty of a family blessed with daughters. In a world where some still measure a family's worth by the birth of a son, this piece gently reminds us that every child is a gift from God, and daughters are no exception.

These three sisters stand together with confidence, grace, and dignity. They represent love without rivalry, strength without noise, and a future filled with purpose. They remind us that a home built on love, values, and unity is already rich.

As I handcrafted each figure, I wanted every sister to have her own presence while remaining connected to the others. Just like in real life, they are different, yet they belong together. Every fold, texture, and detail was shaped by hand, making each sculpture as unique as the family it represents.

This piece is more than home décor. It is a celebration of sisterhood, family, heritage, and the priceless blessing of children. It tells every daughter, "You are loved. You are enough. You are a legacy."

Every handcrafted piece I create is inspired by the beauty of everyday life, and this corn seller is my tribute to the countless men and women whose honest work keeps our communities alive.

When I think of roasted corn, I don't just think of food. I think of early mornings, long hours, warm smiles, determination, and the dignity of earning a living through hard work. Behind every basket of corn is a story of sacrifice, perseverance, and hope.

That is the story I wanted this sculpture to preserve.

Handcrafted in papier-mâché, every detail has been carefully shaped and painted by hand. No two pieces are exactly alike, making each sculpture a unique work of art with its own character and personality.

THE FISHERMAN

Every handcrafted piece I create tells a story, and this fisherman is one of the stories that is very close to my heart.

To many people, he is simply a fisherman carrying his catch. But to me, he represents hard work, patience, resilience, and the dignity of honest labour. Before the fish reached the market or the dining table, someone woke before sunrise, trusted the waters, endured uncertainty, and returned with a harvest. That quiet determination deserves to be celebrated.

This sculpture is a reminder that life's greatest rewards often come to those who are willing to work faithfully, even when the outcome is not guaranteed. It speaks of hope, perseverance, provision, and the joy that follows a fruitful season.

What makes this piece especially unique is that it is completely handcrafted in papier-mâché, with careful attention given to every detail—from the fisherman's expression and posture to the woven fishing net and each individual fish. No two pieces are ever exactly alike. Every sculpture carries its own personality because every one is made by hand with patience, creativity, and love.
