From 13 to 15 October 2026, AITI conducted stakeholder consultation sessions to support the development of the Digital Competence Framework for Brunei Darussalam (DCF), with the support of an expert engaged by the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT).

The sessions brought together representatives from government agencies, higher education institutions, training providers and community groups to share insights on digital skills and literacy, existing initiatives and assessments, implementation considerations, digital inclusion, and alignment with national policies and strategies.

Through discussions and interactive activities, participants identified digital skills gaps, prioritised different groups within society, and mapped relevant digital competencies. The sessions also explored the role of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), in strengthening digital readiness and encouraging responsible digital participation.

The input gathered will support AITI and the APT Expert in refining a practical, inclusive and locally relevant Framework that responds to the needs of Brunei Darussalam and supports the nation’s digital transformation priorities.

AITI expresses its appreciation to all stakeholders for their valuable contributions and continued support in shaping the Digital Competence Framework for Brunei Darussalam.
