BRAZSPICE WEEKLY PEPPER MARKET INSIGHT — WEEK 29
Brazil + Vietnam Market Intelligence for European Buyers

BRAZSPICE PEPPER MARKET DASHBOARD

-- Vietnam Prices: Stable to firm; completed harvest and controlled farmer selling continue supporting the market.
-- Brazil Prices: Stable; new-crop availability is improving, while premium and EU-compliant lots remain selective.
-- Freight: Manageable but still volatile; confirm prompt shipment space and total landed costs.
-- EU Compliance & MRL: Active; residue control, traceability and microbiological requirements remain key purchasing factors.
-- Weather Risk: Increasing as El Niño develops, adding uncertainty for future production.
-- Pink Pepper Brazil: New-crop processing continues; premium Grade G1 availability remains limited.
-- Supply Availability: Improving for conventional Brazilian pepper; controlled in Vietnam and tighter for sterilized, organic and EU-specification programs.
-- Market Bias: Stable → Firm
-- Current Fundamentals: Supported by disciplined selling, resilient demand, compliance costs and weather uncertainty.
-- Buyer Focus This Week: Consider gradual Q3–Q4 forward coverage while the market remains relatively stable.
-- Procurement Signal: Gradual Forward Buying

The Big Picture: Consolidation, Not Correction

This week in the pepper market, what really mattered was not a major price movement—but the continued strength beneath the surface.

The global market is consolidating after earlier volatility. Fresh pepper from Brazil and Indonesia is improving immediate availability, but Vietnam’s completed harvest, controlled farmer selling and continued export demand are preventing a broader correction.

Vietnam exported approximately 23,103 ton of pepper in June, valued at USD 151.3 million. Monthly shipments slowed, but European demand remained stable and first-half exports continued showing strong year-on-year growth.

Vietnam: Domestic prices are holding around VND 134,000–136,000/kg. Standard export references remain broadly around USD 6,100–6,200/MT for 500–550 g/l black pepper, while processed and EU-compliant programs trade at higher levels.

Brazil: ASTA 570 remains internationally competitive at approximately USD 5,900/MT on general market references. New-crop arrivals are improving availability, but premium cleaned and EU-compliant lots remain selective.

A trend we’re watching closely: El Niño has developed and is expected to strengthen later in 2026. This does not create an immediate pepper shortage, but it increases uncertainty for future production cycles and supports cautious forward-planning.

Where we see opportunity right now: European buyers can use the current period of relative stability to secure selective Q3–Q4 coverage, particularly for traceable, residue-controlled and sterilized programs

What to watch next week: Brazilian harvest flows, Vietnamese farmer selling, EU demand, freight availability and weather developments.

Based at origin in Brazil, Brazspice provides international buyers direct access to verified exporters and structured pepper supply programs.

Week 28 | Vietnam + Brazil + Global Pepper Market Intelligence for European Buyers
Where we see opportunity right now.

Vietnam's June exports cooled to 23,103 MT (US$151.3 million), down 8.2% month-on-month, following an exceptionally strong first half of 2026. Despite the slower June pace, H1 exports still reached 145,686 MT, up 17.4% year-on-year, confirming solid global demand.

The U.S. continues to expand purchases (+21% YoY in June), while China shifted sharply from strong buying during H1 to a significant decline in June, creating a market worth watching over the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Europe continues to prioritize supply security, verified origin, residue compliance and reliable logistics rather than simply chasing the lowest offer.

Brazil remains a stable alternative. Exporters continue offering competitive ASTA grades while supplying both Europe and Vietnam, helping balance global availability.

Another important factor is weather. Forecasts continue pointing toward developing El Niño conditions during the second half of 2026, increasing uncertainty for future production across several producing countries.

Import requirements also continue tightening. European buyers should closely monitor new SPS and MRL developments together with evolving regulations in Japan and Türkiye.

Our view heading into Week 28

The market remains stable today, but the fundamentals remain supportive. Farmer stocks are gradually tightening while demand remains resilient.

For buyers with Q3 and Q4 requirements, securing structured supply programs today may reduce both pricing and compliance risk later this year.

Week 27 | Brazil + Vietnam Pepper Market Intelligence for European Buyers

This week in the market: what really mattered.

The global black pepper market is entering Week 27 in a narrow but firm trading range. Buyers are not seeing a sharp breakout, but the underlying fundamentals remain supportive: tighter global supply, cautious farmer selling, firm freight, and steady European demand.

Vietnam remains stable after a local farmgate rebound, with FOB offers holding firm. Current offers:

Today Vietnam Offers. Please check today exchange rates for the euro Pesticides Guarantee - EU + 180$/mt

Conventional Steam Sterilized Black Pepper
550 g/l — USD 6,580 FOB | approx. EUR 5,773 FOB
570 g/l — USD 6,690 FOB | approx. EUR 5,869 FOB

Organic Black Pepper EU-FDA — USD 9,215 FOB | approx. EUR 8,085 FOB
Organic White Pepper EU-FDA 630 g/l — USD 12,690 FOB | approx. EUR 11,134 FOB

Brazil remains the most competitively priced black pepper origin this week, with ASTA 570 indicated around USD 5,950/MT FOB, approx. EUR 5,220/MT FOB. However, EU buyers should continue to pay attention to Salmonella controls, MRL requirements, and lot-specific documentation.

Trade implication for European buyers: Brazil is price-competitive, Vietnam remains more structured for steam sterilized and organic programs, and freight/logistics are becoming a larger part of landed-cost decisions.

Import duties and trade agreements remain important, but compliance, testing, and origin reliability are currently more decisive than duty alone.

Buyer strategy: secure prompt shipment where possible, verify EU documentation early, and avoid waiting too long for a sharp correction.

EUR values are indicative and may vary with daily exchange-rate fluctuations.

Brazspice Weekly Pepper Market Insight – Week 26
Brazil + Vietnam + Global Pepper Market Intelligence for European Buyers

This week in the market: what really mattered.

The pepper market remains remarkably resilient. Prices moved sideways this week, but the underlying fundamentals continue to favor sellers rather than buyers.

BRAZSPICE PEPPER MARKET DASHBOARD

Vietnam Prices: Stable — farmers continue holding inventories.
Brazil Prices: Stable to Firm — competitive origin supporting global supply.
Freight: Volatile — Hormuz uncertainty has eased, but rates remain above historical averages.
EU Compliance & MRL Update: Active — compliance continues shaping European procurement.
Weather Risk: High — El Niño remains the biggest medium-term market risk.
Pink Pepper Brazil: Harvest progressing with firm premium demand.
Supply Availability: Tight — global inventories remain below historical averages.
Market Bias: Stable → Firm
Current Fundamentals: Supported by limited inventories, weather uncertainty, resilient demand and stricter compliance requirements.

Market Intelligence

Vietnam continues strengthening its position as the world's leading processing and sterilization hub.

Although domestic production remains constrained, imports of Brazilian raw pepper continue supporting export commitments, allowing Vietnam to maintain strong shipments to premium markets such as the United States and Germany.

Market Interpretation

Vietnam is increasingly exporting processing capacity rather than only domestic production.

Buyer Implication

Brazil remains strategically important as a reliable raw-material origin, while Vietnam continues leading value-added exports.

Brazil Perspective

Brazil continues reinforcing its role as one of the world's most competitive pepper origins.

Espírito Santo remains the country's export engine, while Bahia strengthens supply continuity. Brazil's structured exporter-driven market offers European buyers a more predictable procurement alternative compared with Vietnam's more reactive farmer-driven market.

EU Compliance & MRL Update

Compliance continues becoming a competitive advantage.
European buyers increasingly prioritice:

• traceable sourcing
• residue-compliant supply
• steam sterilized programs
• verified export operations

Buyer Strategy

Where we currently see opportunity:

• diversify sourcing between Brazil and Vietnam
• use quieter weeks to secure forward coverage
• prioritice compliant, value-added supply programs
• monitor El Niño developments heading into the 2027 crop cycle

Brazspice Market Conclusion

The market remains quieter than earlier in the year, but the underlying fundamentals continue supporting disciplined procurement rather than delayed buying. Vietnam continues strengthening its position as the global processing hub, while Brazil remains one of the world's most competitive raw-material origins. Buyers securing compliant supply programs early are likely to be better positioned for the second half of 2026.

Brazspice Weekly Pepper Market Insight – Week 25
Brazil + Vietnam Market Intelligence for European Buyers

A trend we're watching closely right now.
The pepper market remains quiet — but structurally firm.

Vietnam's black pepper market showed little movement this week, with farmers continuing to hold inventories and showing no urgency to sell. The absence of selling pressure suggests confidence that prices may strengthen later in the season.

BRAZSPICE PEPPER MARKET DASHBOARD

Vietnam Prices: Stable
Brazil Prices: Stable to Firm
Freight: Improving after Middle East easing
EU Compliance & MRL Update: Tightening
Weather Risk: El Niño Watch
Pink Pepper Brazil: Harvest progressing
Supply Availability: Tight
Market Bias: Stable → Firm
Current Fundamentals: Supported by tight inventories, weather risk, and compliance-driven demand.

What Really Mattered This Week

The most important development was the easing of geopolitical tension in the Middle East.

The US–Iran agreement and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz may help reduce freight surcharges and improve shipping confidence toward Europe and the Middle East.

Importers in UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt who delayed purchases during the recent instability may gradually return to the market.

At the same time, El Niño concerns continue building across major producing origins.
Potential impacts include:

• drought pressure in Vietnam
• irrigation stress
• lower yields across Vietnam, India, Indonesia, and Brazil
• tighter global availability into 2027

Brazil Perspective
Brazil continues acting as a stabilizing origin for international buyers.

Espírito Santo and Bahia remain the core producing regions supporting export availability, while Brazil's structured export flow provides an important diversification alternative for European buyers.

Unlike Vietnam's farmer-driven market, Brazil generally offers more predictable export availability.

EU Compliance & MRL Update
Stricter pesticide residue limits (MRLs) continue impacting exports into Europe.
Demand for compliant, traceable, and steam sterilized supply programs continues increasing across industrial buyers and food manufacturers.

Buyer Strategy
Where we see opportunity:

• use quieter weeks for selective coverage
• diversify Brazil + Vietnam sourcing
• prioritize EU-compliant suppliers
• prepare Q3–Q4 programs before weather risks become clearer

The market remains quiet, but fundamentals continue supporting a stable-to-firm outlook.

This week in the market: what really mattered.

Vietnam delivered its strongest five-month export start on record, exporting 122,583 MT (+21.7% YoY) between January and May.

Demand remains resilient across the US, Europe, and Asia, while tightening farmer stocks, weather uncertainty, and rising input costs continue supporting prices.

Key developments:

• USA remains the largest buyer
• UAE, Turkey, Germany and Netherlands continue expanding purchases
• Turkey +88.9%, Canada +132.6%, Thailand +99.4% YoY growth
• China remains active but highly opportunistic, with irregular buying patterns

Today Vietnam offers:

Brazil Perspective
Brazil continues strengthening its position as a strategic diversification origin.

• Espírito Santo remains the export engine
• Brazil is benefiting as buyers diversify away from tighter Southeast Asian supply

Unlike Vietnam’s farmer-driven market, Brazil offers a more structured and predictable export flow.

Pink Pepper

Brazil’s harvest is underway.
Premium European demand remains firm, while supply continues limited and quality-sensitive.
EU Compliance & MRL

Update
Stricter pesticide residue limits (MRLs) continue impacting exports into Europe.
Demand for compliant, traceable, and steam sterilized supply programs continues increasing across industrial buyers.

Buyer Strategy

• Secure Q3–Q4 coverage selectively
• Diversify origin exposure
• Prioritize compliance-ready suppliers

The market remains stable-to-firm with limited evidence of significant downside pressure.

Brazspice Weekly Pepper Market Insight – Week 23Brazil + Vietnam + International Pepper Intelligence for European Buyers...
01/06/2026

Brazspice Weekly Pepper Market Insight – Week 23
Brazil + Vietnam + International Pepper Intelligence for European Buyers

A trend we’re watching closely right now.

The pepper market is quieter this week — but not weaker.

Vietnam spot demand has slowed as buyers wait for clearer signals from geopolitics, freight, and Q3 planning. Domestic prices eased slightly from around 141,000 VND/kg to near 140,000 VND/kg, equal to approx. USD 5.38/kg or EUR 4.95/kg farm-gate equivalent.

Export benchmarks remain elevated:

• Vietnam black pepper 500–550 g/l: USD 6,100–6,200/MT
• Vietnam white pepper ASTA: around USD 9,000/MT
• Brazil ASTA 570: around USD 6,100/MT

Vietnam

Export pace slowed in mid-May, with buyers in “pause and assess” mode. Weather is mixed: higher temperatures remain a concern, while improving rains support soil moisture but may complicate drying and local logistics.

Vietnam continues moving toward steam sterilized, organic, and certified pepper — raising average export value and strengthening long-term partnership opportunities.

Brazil

Brazil is gaining strategic weight.

Espírito Santo remains the main export driver, with Bahia supporting continuity. Brazil’s stronger 2026 production outlook and stable ASTA 570 levels make it increasingly relevant for EU buyers seeking diversification away from Asia-only sourcing.

Pink Pepper

Brazil’s upcoming pink pepper harvest remains stable, with premium EU demand firm and supply still limited.

Buyer Strategy

Where we see opportunity:

• use quiet weeks for selective coverage
• diversify Brazil + Vietnam origins
• prioritize certified and processed supply
• monitor EU MRL tightening and freight shifts

The market is stable-to-firm — but still structurally supported.

25/05/2026

Brazspice Weekly Pepper Market Insight – Week 22
Brazil + Vietnam Pepper Market Intelligence for European Buyers

What to watch this iweek.

The global pepper market continues shifting from a harvest-driven market into a supply-security market.

Vietnam demand remains firm across the US, EU, and Asia, especially for forward contracts into late 2026 and 2027, while tightening farmer stock positions continue limiting nearby availability.

Vietnam domestic prices remain steady around:

141,000–144,000 VND/kg
≈ USD 5.75–5.90/kg
≈ EUR 5.30–5.45/kg

Export prices remain firm:

• FAQ Black Pepper 500–550 GL → approx. USD 6,100–6,250/MT
• White Pepper ASTA → approx. USD 8,900–9,100/MT

🌏 Key Market Drivers

• El Niño risks continue building across Vietnam’s Central Highlands
• Lower rainfall and irrigation pressure could reduce next crop yields further
• Freight costs Asia→Europe continue rising, now estimated around USD 140–220/MT
• June shipping space to EU/MED remains tight

At the same time, Vietnamese exporters are sourcing increasingly from local farmers rather than relying on imported raw material due to elevated US tariff pressure on third-country routing.

🇧🇷 Brazil Perspective

Brazil remains strategically important for EU buyers seeking diversification and more stable export flow.

Espírito Santo continues driving FOB availability and shipment pace, while Bahia supports continuity and balance.

Brazil’s 2025/26 crop recovery continues improving stock replenishment, while mechanization investments help offset labor shortages.

🌸 Pink Pepper

Brazil’s upcoming pink pepper harvest remains stable, with premium European demand continuing firm.

Supply remains limited and quality-driven.
Buyer Strategy

Where we still see opportunity:

• securing structured H2 2026 coverage
• diversifying Brazil + Vietnam origins
• adding freight and lead-time buffers into Q3 planning

The market remains firm — and increasingly selective.

18/05/2026

Brazspice Weekly Pepper Market Insight – Week 21
Brazil + Vietnam Pepper Market Intelligence for European Buyers

Who’s winning (and losing) this week—and why.

The global pepper market is becoming increasingly divided between buyers securing long-term coverage early and those still relying on spot availability.

Vietnam’s supply outlook continues tightening:

• 2026 crop forecast now 15–20% lower YoY
• Carryover inventories remain low
• Farmers continue holding stock

At the same time, demand is accelerating aggressively:

• US imports +121% month-on-month
• China +134.7%
• Egypt, Canada & Philippines also increasing purchases

Vietnam domestic prices remain firm around:

141,000–144,000 VND/kg
≈ USD 5.75–5.90/kg
≈ EUR 5.30–5.45/kg

The market is no longer driven only by current harvest availability — it is increasingly pricing future scarcity.

🇧🇷 Brazil Perspective

Brazil continues positioning itself as a stabilizing origin for EU buyers.

Espírito Santo remains the core export region, driving FOB availability and shipment pace, while Bahia supports continuity and diversification.

Brazil’s structured exporter-driven supply model contrasts with Vietnam’s more reactive farmer-led market.

Mechanized harvesting is also beginning to expand in Brazil as producers respond to labor shortages and rising collection costs.

🌸 Pink Pepper

Brazil’s upcoming pink pepper harvest remains stable, with premium EU demand continuing firm.

Supply remains limited and quality-sensitive.

Trade & Logistics

• Middle East freight disruptions continue pushing shipping costs sharply higher
• EU MRL tightening continues influencing buyer strategy
• Vietnam increasing imports from Brazil and Cambodia to offset domestic shortage

Buyer Strategy

Where we still see opportunity:

• securing structured H2 2026 contracts
• diversifying Brazil + Vietnam origins
• building additional freight and lead-time buffers into Q3 planning

The market remains firm — and increasingly selective.
