📉 New York Stock Exchange falling… and the price of coffee?

📊 Although coffee is a commodity traded on the exchange, its price does not react automatically or linearly to fluctuations in the financial market.

💰 The value of coffee is the result of a much more complex set of factors, such as:
* Global supply and demand
* Weather conditions in the main producing origins
* Stock levels, logistics and export flow
* Exchange rates and the activity of funds and investors in commodity exchanges

🧐 A key point in the current scenario: many producers are capitalized after periods of high prices. This reduces the pressure for immediate sales.

👉🏼 In practice, during periods of low prices in the financial markets, what we see is the producer withdrawing from the physical market. With less supply available and no need to generate cash, prices do not fall easily. The result is a more stagnant physical market, while demand remains active — which sustains the prices practiced.

📈 In specialty coffees, this dynamic is even more evident. Quality, consistency, origin, and solid business relationships weigh much more than occasional stock market movements.

This initiative is not only important for promoting gender equality in the coffee industry but also for contributing to the development of sustainable communities.
