🐞 Not all ladybugs are the same!
Some species help protect your garden by eating pests like aphids, while others can be invasive, aggressive, and even bite. 🌿
One small detail can help identify them:
The invasive type often has an “M” shaped marking behind the head.
Nature is full of tiny details most people never notice… until now. 👀

As we look to growing 🍄 mushrooms on a larger scale here is what we have learned so far.

Gnats are sneaky, tiny, invasive and rude bugs that love mushroom medium. 🦟

Storage of fresh mushrooms can be in a paper bag in the fridge for 2 to 3 days on a shelf and not the crisper. OR in a jar for up to 2 weeks. If freezing mushrooms, slice and sauté before freezing for up to a year. We will pass on more knowledge as we learn too.💪

Pictured are oyster mushrooms, currently in a pot with chicken for a mushroom chicken soup and fresh herbs. Perfect rainy night food. 🥣

🍉 How to Pick the SWEETEST Watermelon Every Time 👀
Most people choose watermelons completely wrong 😅
But farmers often look for a few simple signs before buying one.
✔ Round shape = usually sweeter
✔ Yellow field spot = ripened longer under the sun
✔ Lots of webbing = strong pollination, often sweeter
✔ Dark, dull skin = more mature watermelon
Avoid:
❌ White spots
❌ Very shiny skin
❌ Light-weight melons
And here’s something many people forget 👇
🥁 Tap the watermelon lightly.
A ripe one usually sounds deeper and more hollow.
⚖️ Also check the weight:
A good watermelon should feel HEAVY for its size because it contains more water and juice.
