What are some questions consumers can ask when buying and before eating food?

1. Is hot food actually hot, and cold food actually cold?
2. How long has perishable food been sitting at room temperature?
3. Is the meat, poultry, or seafood fully cooked?
4. Are hands being washed when soiled?
5. What about cutting boards, utensils, and other equipment, are they clean and sanitized readily?
6. Has the food expired or is it close to the "use-by" date?
7. Does the food have an off odour, colour or texture?
8. Is the overall appearance of the venue and food operator clean?
9. Are workers blatantly breaking food safety rules?
10. Does your food have a foreign object in it?
