Noka Farm

Noka Farm Noka Farm is an operating horticulture farm in Francistown, North East of Botswana, previously known as Agribots and Legola Farm.

The farm is located on the bank of the Tati River at the northern boundary of Francistown, Botswana. It comprises of 157.22 hectares of freehold industrial land, of which 60 hectares is being farmed, benefiting from drip irrigation infrastructure. In September 2013, AEV Investments (Pty) Ltd acquired the farm from a group of Zimbabwean investors. The farm is fully operational, fenced and includes

tractors, and various farming implements in working condition. The farm is currently farming tomatoes, butternuts, beetroots, carrots, onions, cabbages, green peppers on the land, potatoes and herbs could also be produced. Noka Farm is operating as a horticultural producer in Botswana, the buying market for the farm comprises of the independent traders well known as “vendors” and corporate customers, and this is mainly the retail shops and chains, wholesalers, warehouse and distribution centers, hospitality industry and others. Our corporate customer list includes, Motopi Holdings, Jama Investments, Pick n Pay, Choppies, Shoprite, Woolworths, Spar, Cresta Marang Gardens, and Cresta Thapama etc. Noka Fare pride itself in producing quality and quantity to meet the demand of the local market by implementing and putting in place improved and innovative farming practices. The strategy is to drive access to the local horticultural market through a meaningful brand that represent the nearby local nature watercourse “Noka – meaning river”. To date, the farm employs 40 permanent employees (33 locals and 7 expatriates) and 20 casual employees (all locals). The expansion strategy of the farm which is currently under implementation will see the number increasing to over 100 employees on the ground. The farming operations at Noka Farm are led by the Farm Manager, Anthony Peel and the Sales Manager, Lilian K Futre with support from the AEV Services team. The expansion strategy of the farm is to develop a state of the art hydroponic tunnels, this will position the farm to access the export market, having established a relationship with some well-known European retailers. Noka Farm is also exploring the opportunity to build a solar photovoltaic 30 MW plant for own and national grid consumption. Noka Farm is a member of the AEV Group.
