A PLACE OF COMFORT
The Bible says the Israelites lived in Goshen for 430 years.Goshen means a place of comfort. They were also told that it was the most fertile land.They were simply slaves until they decided to finally leave. A place of comfort. Sounds like your workplace..
It was never their land.They held no title to the land but the Egyptians made sure they were comfortable. Four generations lived in Egypt and never really realised they did not own Egypt. Their children could not inherit Egypt. They were only in Goshen to be comfortable.
As you drive your sparkling new car to work tomorrow from your gated community in a company house remember you're in Goshen. Your next chapter is the Exodus.
As we sit down to plan legacies and talk about the next generation and you can't come because you're busy in Egypt remember your children won't inherit it.In 3 moths they have to leave the mansion before the tears have dried.
Goshen is comfortable but it's not yours..

IMAGINE IT...THE FIRST STEP
Fifty years ago now Martin Cooper, a mottorola engineer, made the first cellphone call in the streets of New York. Now we can't imagine life without a cellphone. Some marriages have even collapsed because of it.All because one man imagined it first, he dared to dream differently. God works according to our dreams, our imaginations.
Dare to dream.Right now someone cannot imagine crossing borders to talk about creating wealth. Someone cannot imagine his products being sold all over Africa if not the world.
The dream is limited.Youre sizing yourself up before the world does.
Someone is discouraging you to meet like minded people and you're beginning to believe it.
Your imagination is your limitation. See it in your mind first.We are not talking about money we are talking about wealth and why not?

FARM BLINDNESS
They say amongst farmers there is what they call Farm BLINDNESS. It's when a farmer only looks at his farm and thinks it's the standard every where.They do not venture out to see what's happening. We also suffer from Border BLINDNESS where we are limited to only what's happening within our borders.
We do not venture out to meet other entrepreneurs surrounding us and hence when someone within our country says things are tough we all believe it.Yet your experience or product could be in demand right next door.Most African countries import rice from India ,including Zimbabwe. Yet Malawi has tons of tice and someone in Malawi is complaining about a lack of business. The examples are plenty and will continue unless we unlock our vision, meet and start talking wealth creation.

WEALTH IS A STATE OF MIND
Egypt is home to the river Nile and it's banks are some of the most fertile in the world.Yet it wasn't the promised land.Present day Israel was an arid land...more like Botswana yet it was the promised land.Today Israel is one of the leading producers of Organic fruit and vegetables in the world. Yes a desert.
I believe God showed us that it's a mindset not the environment. The Israelites as a nation lead on innovation and research.They gave us drip irrigation because they had no water and had to learn to maximise water.
Congo has the most fertile soils on planet earth yet they don't plant anything.
The people of Israel spent 40 years to travel from Egypt to Israel a distance of 600kms...they were being prepared mentally. Now they are the world's richest people. Mindset.
We are meeting not because we have money to pool together, no we have great minds..source of wealth. We are meeting in a country that's almost a desert...It's associated with a lack of water...but it's the mind that creates wealth otherwise Congo would be a world leader in farming.

THE GAMBLER
A few decades ago Kenny Rodgers released a song titled "The Gambler".Every gambler knows the secret to survival...and it goes on.It got me thinking how most African parents are gamblers.They will send their kids to school hopefully up to degree level...and the rest is up to you.They gamble that most likely you will get a job..I sent you to school so hopefully someone will employ you.Thats your heritage...a piece of paper with your name on it.
No guarantee,no wealth no financial knowledge. Just that piece of paper.Even if your father owned a grocery store chances are after a few years it will follow him to the grave.It was HIS and you had no idea how it was managed.
The concept of Generational Wealth is not in our blood in most cases.
Isn't it time we changed the narrative? You have a child who has completed tertiary education and is sitting at home hoping someone will employ him.Is that it? Are we being fair? Is there another way? Can we change the narrative?
In September we are meeting with other like minded people from around Africa to discuss Generational Wealth, to network and look in the mirror. What exactly is our legacy? We will have people from Uganda, Zambia, Botswana, Kenya, Zimbabwe and hopefully more places.Gaborone is where it's happening. In the evening let's share a beer, let's roast meat but let's speak the truth...what's our legacy
