Early this morning the 108 Mile Ranch Fire Department was dispatched to a tree on line call. Upon arrival, it was apparent the line was energized and was conducting electricity through the tree to ground. The tree was on fire and the ground at the base of the tree was smoking. We would like to remind everyone of the danger of this type of call and to stay well back if you come across this type of situation. The minimum safe distance is 10 meters or 33 feet.
