We’ve gotten SO many DMs asking how Diesel is! Our 13-year-old boy is still the boss of the farm, and right by our side as we plow this week! 🐾

Autumn brings us back to what we love most about farming.

Getting our hands in the soil, tending to the land, and trusting that the work we put in will come to bloom in spring! 🍂

The tulip life cycle is a little longer than you might think! We plant the bulbs in fall, they spend the winter developing underground, and come spring, they burst into bloom.

After flowering, the tulips are harvested and the bulbs are carefully lifted, cleaned, sorted and stored, ready to be planted again when the season rolls around! 🌱 → 🌷 → ✂️ → 🧅 → 🍂 →

Almost too pretty to eat, but far too delicious to resist! 🤤

Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a donut pan. In one bowl, mix 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour, ½ cup light brown sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, a pinch of salt, and 1 tsp of dried English lavender.

In another bowl, whisk together 1 egg, ¼ cup milk, ¼ cup vegetable oil, ¼ cup yogurt, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, and the zest of 1 lemon.

Stir wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Pipe into donut molds and bake for 12 minutes. For a topping, use melted white chocolate and more dried lavender to garnish!

As summer begins to wind down and we feel fall energy starting to creep in, we think of preserving and using our blooms. Especially with lavender. Snip the blooms, hang them to dry, and you'll have fragrant bundles ready for baking, teas, syrups, and this delish ice cream!

🪻 Simmer 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream with lavender and let it steep for 15 minutes. After it cools, add 2 more cups of cream, and whip until soft peaks form.

🪻 In a separate bowl, mix 1 can of condensed milk, 1 tsp vanilla, and 2 tbsp honey, then gently fold into the whipped cream. Pour into a freezer-safe container and freeze, for at least 6 hours, or until firm!
