Glen Valley Organic Farm Co-operative

Glen Valley Organic Farm Co-operative We co-operatively steward 50 acres of land on the Fraser River floodplain, just east of Fort Langley.

We are a community of individuals who have come together with the goal of sharing, owning and operating Glen Valley Organic Farm. We use a Co-operative structure and employ a consensus model of decision-making, ensuring that all members have a voice. The Co-operative stewards 50 acres of fertile loam, woodland, and wetlands plus several homes and outbuildings on our farm just east of Fort Langley,

BC on the south shore of the Fraser River. We seek to feed and educate present and future generations by co-operatively holding, stewarding and sustainably farming our land. At the moment, we lease the land to four businesses being run off of the farm – Close to Home Organics and Earth Apple Organic Farm are the organic produce businesses that operate Community Shared Agriculture (CSA) programs and sell at local Farmer’s Markets. Pitchfork Organic Farm, who have operated a CSA in the past, is transitioning in 2016 to a form a seed production business. Helping us with our pollination needs on the farm, we have a shareholder acting as our on farm apiarist and running Mina’s Honey Pot.

You’ve gotta turn up the volume for the video (we took this one at night). Last year we started to build a wetland on the farm. So much of what has been done so far is thanks to our partners

We didn’t know quite what to expect.

This week it is deafening with frogs. The birds have found it. Something we started is now making itself.
The world is fragile and astonishingly resilient, sometimes in the same breath. We needed that reminder right now. 🐸

We haven’t been on the socials much lately, but hopefully it’s not too late to wish you a Happy New Year! During times like this we get a lot of questions about flooding . . . yes, it’s wet, and yes, the fields are draining. Buddy went to survey the water today. The pathway is wet, but it’s perfect fun for a dog. 2026 CSA details are coming soon. Stay tuned!

*tap*tap* You still there? We’ve been a bit quiet here. But this week our CSA program started up for another season! Lots of early season goodies like rhubarb, spinach, bok choi, radishes, lettuce and green garlic. We also have some wild foraged items from — lily spears and fiddleheads! Here’s to the harvest ahead of us.
