Have you ever wondered why we’re so hungry for stories?

For as long as we’ve been human, we’ve painted them, sung them, acted them out and shared them around tables.

Maybe that’s because story is part of what it means to be human.
We don’t experience life through words alone. We experience it through flavour, colour, scent and sound. Through memory, imagination and spirit.

And somehow, we turn all of those things into meaning.
That’s really what my new cookbook grew out of.
For years, I’ve been exploring how food can carry a story in ways words alone sometimes can’t.

A flavour can trigger a memory. A colour can create expectation. A scent can take you somewhere before you’ve even tasted anything. Even sound can change how we perceive flavour.
Connect those senses to a story, and something interesting happens. We don’t just understand the story—we experience it.

The Gospel According to Food grew out of years of those experiments, questions and stories around the table.
Here’s a short video Lynda took of me opening the finished book for the first time. After all the years of imagining, creating, cooking, writing and rewriting, it still feels a little surreal to finally hold it in my hands.

Savouring the Sound, Soul & Spiritual Journey of U2

I have many passions in life—and food, faith and U2 are three of the biggest. This feast is where they all come together.

On September 26 at 6 PM, I’m setting the table for a journey through five decades of U2—from the raw urgency of their early songs to the bold reinvention of Achtung Baby and the enduring themes of longing, justice, doubt, faith, and grace woven throughout their music.

For this 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, I’ve added several new dishes created especially for the celebration, expanding the culinary set list while keeping the fan favourites guests have loved. Each course draws inspiration from a U2 song, transforming its imagery, spiritual searching, cries for justice and restless hope into something you can see, taste and experience.

Expect fan favourites, new Deluxe Edition dishes, bonus tracks and a few surprises along the way.

I had a great time at our Orlando Book Launch at CRU HQ Lake Hart! I’m very grateful for Jason Weimer’s and CRU Press’s investment into my big idea of sharing the Gospel over my unique shared meals. Jason has been an amazing editor and friend. He is also the Director of CRU Press. Editing all my crazy ideas is no easy task! The book is beautiful in every way so I wanted to create a special thank you gift for Jason. So I made him a Pizza Peel / Charcuterie Board out of some figured Maple. I carved it with my jig saw and a box knife. Thank you Jason! I’m excited to see what Jesus will do with our book and for the next chapter of 🍁

I spent some time in the mail room today, signing books! 📚

It was kind of surreal.

After years of cooking, writing, dreaming, and gathering people around the table, I’m now signing and sending out the very first preorders of The Gospel According to Food. A big thank you to everyone who placed a preorder!

These books are actually heading out into the world—and hopefully into kitchens, around tables, and into some meaningful conversations.

And now it’s time to celebrate! 🎉

Well… today a dream became a book. 📖

After years of dreaming, praying, cooking, writing, and setting tables, I finally held the first printed copy of The Gospel According to Food: Setting the Table for Spiritual Conversations in my hands.

This book grew out of something God placed on my heart many years ago:

Often the hardest part of talking about spiritual things is simply getting the conversation started.

Theo’s Feast began as a Holy Spirit-led invitation to explore whether food, story, metaphor, and hospitality could help make those conversations a little more natural.

And so I started setting tables.

Over the past several years, I’ve personally welcomed more than 3,000 dinner guests, developing recipes and edible metaphors designed to spark wonder and open the door to conversations about meaning, hope, faith, grace, and life.

Somewhere along the way, those meals became stories.
Those stories became recipes.
And those recipes became this book.

To everyone who has attended a feast, tasted one of my crazy culinary ideas, helped in the kitchen, encouraged me, prayed for me, or simply cheered me on — thank you.

You have been part of this journey.

Whether you share my faith or are simply curious, I hope this book inspires you to pull up a chair, gather people you care about around your table, and discover that a meal can nourish more than our bodies.

Sometimes, all it takes to begin a meaningful conversation is to set the table.

It’s no secret that the best stories are tasted, not told.
