Spot the snake! 🐍 This garter snake is pretty well camouflaged among the pile of tangled Himalayan balsam. Can you find him? 🌿

There is always something blooming for the bees at Earthwise! Right now, our front garden asters are providing a much-needed lifeline for local pollinators looking for fall nectar. Come take a stroll through the property and enjoy the beautiful views! 🪻🍁

Our volunteers have been hard at work removing Himalayan balsam, an invasive plant that spreads quickly and can take over areas where native plants grow. It’s stubborn work. Seeds can remain viable in the soil, and even small patches can quickly become a problem if left unchecked.

Check out the before-and-after photos to see the difference our volunteers made! 💚 A big thank you to everyone who has been out there pulling, clearing and restoring these areas. Every patch removed gives native plants more room to grow. 🌳

We had a wonderful time at our Volunteer Welcome & Appreciation Event last week, exploring the beautiful Earthwise Agassiz site and spending time with both new and returning volunteers. From a guided walk through the woods to good conversations, it was a great afternoon celebrating the people who help make our work possible. 💚

And we couldn’t resist sharing this photo of one of our lovely volunteers taking cover behind one of our enormous cedar trees!🌲

Thank you to all of our Earthwise Agassiz volunteers. We’re so glad to have you on the team!
