A huge thank you to everyone who ordered a Campfire Box this week.

It still feels a little surreal that something that started as a fun side project has people trusting me to bake for their celebrations, family get-togethers, and long weekends. Seeing your names come through the order form and packing everything up was a pretty cool feeling.

I really appreciate everyone who's supported this baking adventure so far, whether you've placed an order, shared a post, told a friend, or simply followed along. It all means more than you know.

I hope your day is filled with good food, good company, and a little time spent outside enjoying the summer. 🇨🇦🍪🤍

🫐🍒 Tarta Owocowa 🍒🫐
(TAR-tah oh-voh-TSOH-vah)

This one has my whole heart.

A crumbly, buttery tart shell filled with cherry jam made from wiśnie (VEESH-nyeh) — Polish sour cherries — topped with fresh whipped cream and blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.

Sweet, tart, light, and exactly the perfect dessert on a warm summer evening.

Growing up in a Polish/French family, there was always a place at the table for buttery crusts, flaky pastries, and fresh fruit. This recipe was passed down to me from my step-grandmother, and every time I make it, I think of lingering around the table long after dinner was over. Dessert crumbs scattered across the tablecloth, fresh coffee being poured, the summer air drifting through the screen door as dusk settled outside. Everyone squeezed around the table, talking over one another, laughing, and slipping back and forth between English and French as stories grew longer with each telling.

A dessert like this always feels a little bit nostalgic.

🍌 Kitchen Table Banana Bread 🍌

I have a favourite banana bread story.

Years ago, my brother Ryan was having a rough day, so I decided I was going to make him a loaf of banana bread to cheer him up.

A thoughtful gesture. A wholesome sibling moment.

Then he asked:

"How much bread are you going to use?"

I said, "What?"

He said, "For the banana bread."

Friends.

This man thought banana bread was made by taking perfectly innocent bread and somehow adding bananas to it.

As if I was about to hollow out a loaf of Wonder Bread and stuff bananas into it until dessert happened.

I just stared at him while my brain tried to process what was happening.

To be fair, Ryan has many wonderful qualities.

Baking knowledge is not one of them.

For anyone wondering, this banana bread is made with ripe bananas, brown sugar, and absolutely no bread.

Ryan remains under observation.

🍫 M**F Cookies 🍫

(Man I Love Fudge)

These started because I wanted a chocolate cookie that actually tasted like chocolate.

Not "we waved a chocolate bar over the mixing bowl and called it a day."

A proper, rich, fudgy, double chocolate cookie packed with chocolate chips and absolutely zero interest in moderation.

They're soft in the middle, slightly crisp around the edges, and dangerous if you're the kind of person who says things like:

"I'll just have one."

Anyway, I made a small batch last night for quality control purposes.

The quality has been controlled. 🩷

🍪 Custom Orders Are Open ✨

Sometimes you want six cookies.

Sometimes you need a cheesecake.

Sometimes you wake up and decide your weekend would be significantly improved by a pan of brownies.

I understand.

I've officially opened a special order request form for custom baking requests.

Cookies, brownies, cheesecakes, cinnamon buns, banana bread, cupcakes, dessert trays, and other sweet ideas are all welcome. If you have something in mind, tell me what you're looking for and I'll let you know if I can make it happen.

A few quick notes:

🕯️ At least 7 days notice is appreciated
🕯️ Pickup and local delivery are available
🕯️ Pricing will vary depending on the request

Oreo everything 🤍🖤

A friend reached out asking for an Oreo-themed dessert table for a baby shower and I could not say no.

✨ French Vanilla Oreo Cupcakes
Soft, fluffy French vanilla cupcakes topped with a light, whipped, creamy Oreo vanilla frosting… finished with the cutest little baby Oreo on top.

✨ Mini Oreo Cheesecakes
A buttery, sweet Oreo crust with rich, smooth, velvety cheesecake swirled with Oreo crumbs. Finished with a fluffy cool whip topping and a sprinkle of crunchy Oreo pieces for the perfect bite.

Chocolate chip cookies forever. 🤎🍪
Soft. Gooey. Classic.

This weekend’s guitar show was such a success. I loved meeting so many passionate musicians and getting to chat with everyone who stopped by the table. Seriously, thank you for the love.

I’ll be set up with a little Sugar Hearth table at the Tundra Music Guitar Show next Saturday in Burlington 🎸

If you’ve got nowhere better to be on a Saturday (or you just want to touch guitars and eat baked goods like a normal person), come say hi!
