Durham Region and Northumberland residents who are on a municipal water supply occasionally experience a strong odour and taste of chlorine coming from the tap.
❓❓The reason for this? Especially in the warmer months, an algae die off in the water in the area can cause unpleasant taste and odor in the municipal water supply, which must be treated with Chlorine, or Chloramine, causing your home's water to have a strong Chlorine odor.
