Dear all,

First and foremost, thank you for all your comments and support as we announced the retirement of HFT. We’ve loved reading your favourite stories about our donut shop and hearing how our donuts have brought smiles to your faces over the years. Your kind words mean the world to us, and we’re grateful to have been a small part of the amazing Almonte community.

As we head into our final week of business, we wanted to return to a fun donut creation that Ed Atwell invented many years ago which started the journey of always thinking outside the box and later sparked the innovation of HFT: the Sunny Moon Donut.

This Saturday only, stop by and enjoy this one-of-a-kind treat where you can confidently say we are the only place in the world you can enjoy a half chocolate half vanilla cake donut!

This special donut will be available this Saturday only, and we’d love to share it with you one last time.

Thanks for the memories : Last day for HFTDONUTS is Sunday June 21st

Dear Friends and Community,

After 15 wonderful years of serving our donuts to this incredible community, we are announcing our retirement from Healthy Food Technologies (the donut shop in Almonte). Our final day in business will be June 21st, 2026.

This decision brings a mix of emotions, but mostly a profound sense of gratitude. What started as a dream became a reality because of your unwavering support. You did not just buy our product. You shared your lives, milestones, and daily routines with us.We are incredibly proud of the relationships we built and the memories we made together. Thank you for choosing us, trusting us, and making us apart of this community.

HFT was ran as a family business. Ed and I as parents, have had the privilege of working with our 3 children in the donut shop. This truly was a blessing in so many ways.

Thank you James for the 10 years you spent with us. Not only as our son, but as a dedicated employee and manager. I know you cherished your time here as much as we did with you by our side.

We also want to take this moment to thank all our staff- past and present. Special shout out to Kathy, Karen, and Mike you have been the heart of our donut shop. Always ensuring that every customer receives quality customer service to baking fresh donuts every day. Your energy, smiles, and dedication to our shop has been greatly appreciated. Not only staff to us but what grew into a friendship, and an unstoppable HFT family team.

Ed and I are looking forward to our next journey together. HFT will always hold a piece of our hearts.
