Amidst all the news this week, we've taken comfort in looking at our shelves and seeing so many Canadian and Nova Scotia made products.

With tariffs on hold for the time being, we'll still be looking at our shelves to see what Canadian products we can add or replace. What's local that you love? What's your fave made-in-Canada item?

Early this morning and every week, all through the year, beautiful greens going to for good sandwiches and pizzas. These folks are doing great work feeding the people real food!

We’ve never had such a huge harvest of black raspberry’s! We put them between the tunnels in the veggie field so they get all the water diverted off the plastic. They are huge and prolific and really delicious. These perennial strips in the veggie field are full of toads, frogs, insects and birds. They add a lot of beauty to the field and provide some protection from wind and a bit of shade as well. They have a cover crop under them now but we intend to mulch them with wood chips to introduce some fungal elements to our soils.

The Nanking cherries have been amazing this year, nice and tart with great sweetness. It’s a beautiful ornamental too, makes a great addition to any home garden.

I’m sooo stoked to now have greens from Whippletree Farm & Forest in my bowls. They are gorgeous and locally grown in Round Hill.

Pruning black raspberries in the spring in Nova Scotia and finding baby plants from rooted canes. Can’t wait to eat these amazing berries in July.

We are in the dead of winter for greens now, most of ours have sold out and I am harvesting a little here and there. I have ordered more tunnels again, so hopefully next winter there will be a more steady supply. We are approaching the return of the 10 hr day length in early February, which will signal the greens in the tunnels to start to regrow again. I anticipate a return to abundant greens sometime in late February, fingers crossed!

Fresh spinach from Whippletree Farm just came through the door. Get yours while it's here, as the snowy season is going to slow down harvests for a short while.

Our winter salad mix is available at Graves FreshMart in Bridgetown!

Supplies are low at this time of year, but we were able to make a delivery yesterday.

Happy to report minimal damage on the farm from the storm yesterday!
A few hoops have to straightened in the tunnels but otherwise we fared well. Hope everyone is ok!
