Gillcrest Glen Farm

Gillcrest Glen Farm Small scale farm, featuring seasonal plants, berries Highland cattle pork and piglets. I made the move from BC to NS in November 2019.

The farm is a work in progress figuring out what to focus on and what there is a demand for. I work with a few suppliers and farms across the country to source rarer or harder to find plants at reasonable prices. I have always liked to do things a little different and produce things that may not be the "normal". My cattle are miniature crosses so smaller than what you would normally see which mean

s for anyone purchasing beef the cost will be lower when buying a side or quarter while maintaining a quality product. The garden aspect has been more of a challenge for various reasons but I now have a focus for that. I will be turning a 1 acre field into garlic, strawberries and 4 colours of raspberries, mainly, with a few other fun things for something different. I hope to have a greenhouse but that wont happen for awhile. If you have something unusual that you cant find or cant grow...let me know and I will either try to get it in or attempt to grow it...cant promise I will but I can try :) Traci

Since I need the barn space we will be processing a young beef shortly. I had wanted him on grain longer but he is messing up the system lol.

So he will have had a couple weeks of grain a week of grass and a couple more weeks of grain. He won't be as fat or nearly as big as I wanted but he won't stay in the fence so he has to go.

Price is $9 # dry hang weight. Estimated weight for sides 175-200 #. Vacuum sealed.

We have an unhappy Molly and Ella ( she is being weaned) lol. It may be a bit noisy for a few days.. Roxie is upset too.

Anyone who wanted tomato starts today would be a good day to pick them up so I know what's left to plant tomorrow
