Day 5 — Let’s Meet the Animals of Hilltop Haven 🐾

Say hello to Norman! 🐶

Norman is the farm pup around here, and if you see Nicole, chances are Norman isn’t far behind! ❤️ He wouldn’t hurt a fly, but he will excitedly p*e on just about anyone… definitely his biggest red flag 😂🚩

He’s the friendliest boy around and seems to think he’s a horse half the time, often found out grazing in the field alongside them! 🐴😂

Norman is truly living the life any dog could dream of — running around the farm, hanging out with his horse friends, and being completely spoiled with lots and lots of love. 🥰

We couldn’t imagine Hilltop Haven without our goofy farm pup! ❤️🐾

Introducing the children who live here at the farm! ❤️🐴

Meet Addie, Claire, Juliette, and Grace! That’s right… all 4 girls! John is just so lucky 😜😂

Addie is our biggest horse lover. She started riding with her instructor Ava over 3 years ago now, which is absolutely crazy to think about! Sunny was meant to be for Addie, and we’re still holding onto the hope that one day they’ll get their chance together. Until Sunny is fully ready, though, she has completely stolen my horse from me… RW 😂🐴❤️

Then there’s Claire! She’s really starting to show an interest in the horse world and is slowly wanting more and more saddle time, which I’m more than happy to give. It’s been so fun watching her curiosity and confidence grow! ❤️

Juliette, our little spitfire 🔥 She’s sassy, sweet, and very much her own person. She may not be head over heels in love with horses, but she went to horse camp this summer and is SO fearless that she even fell asleep in the saddle on a trail ride 😂🐴 I think it’s safe to say she trusts her horse!

And then there’s Grace, the youngest, who is very much in her own little world a lot of the time ❤️ She likes helping feed the horses and watching them out in the field, but she isn’t quite into riding yet. She did, however, swing a leg over this past weekend and let me pony her around! Maybe she’ll surprise us all one day 🥰

These girls are the reason that every day I strive to be better than I was yesterday. I’m so grateful for each and every one of them and the completely different personalities they bring into our lives.

Four girls, lots of personality, lots of chaos, lots of love… and apparently John is completely outnumbered 😜❤️

They are such a big part of what makes Hilltop Haven feel like home. 🐴🏡❤️

Meet Maddy! 🤍🐴

Maddy is one of our main instructors here at Hilltop Haven, and we’re so lucky to have her as part of our team!

She has been riding since she was a little girl and has built so much knowledge and experience over the years. Maddy recently travelled back to Ontario, where she’s originally from, to work toward gaining her instructor certification, and she’ll be heading back again in October to finish it up! We’re so proud of her for continuing to grow and further her education in the horse industry.

Maddy is also the owner of our sweet Ellie girl, who boards here with us, and she’s the one who graciously sold me Miss Lily, who has quickly become such a big part of our lesson program. 🤍

With a background in training and conditioning horses, Maddy brings so much knowledge to Hilltop Haven. She is kind, patient, hardworking, and always willing to share what she knows with her students and the people around her.

When Maddy isn’t teaching lessons, you can most likely still find her at the barn working with Ellie or spending time with one of the other horses here. 🐴

We’re so happy to have Maddy as part of the Hilltop Haven team and can’t wait to continue watching her grow with us! 🤍

Introducing John 🤍

The man who has been the owner of Hilltop Haven from the very beginning… and my sidekick behind the scenes ever since. 🐴❤️

He’s the one who fixes all the broken pieces around here (and there always seems to be something 😂). The one who has helped make so many of my dreams come to life. The one who is currently building a whole chicken coop just so I can have the full barn back for my horses… now if that isn’t love, I don’t know what is! 😂🐔🐴

He’s also the one I randomly give projects to, and somehow… he just does them. From fixing things, building things, moving things, and helping turn all my crazy ideas into reality, he’s always there behind the scenes making it happen.

And the funniest part? He was totally against the horse life before he fell for me. Now look at him… building chicken coops, fixing barns, and becoming part of all the Hilltop Haven chaos. 🤣

So here’s to the guy who has been behind Hilltop Haven from the start and who may not have chosen the horse life… but somehow the horse life (and me) chose him. ❤️

Meet Nicole 🤎

Here’s the main person behind Hilltop Haven — I’m Nicole! 👋🏼🐴

What started as simply my love for horses has slowly grown into something so much bigger than I ever imagined. Hilltop Haven is a place where I get to combine my love for horses, my family, and the dream of building something of our own. 🌿

Over the last few years, horses have taught me so much — patience, confidence, responsibility, humility, and probably most importantly, that they will humble you VERY quickly! 😂

I’m constantly learning, growing, and trying to make Hilltop Haven a place where both horses and people feel welcome, safe, and valued. Whether you’re here for a riding lesson, boarding, a visit, or just following along with our crazy farm adventures, I’m so grateful you’re here. 🤎

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to keep this little farm running, and I’m excited to share more of the real-life, messy, rewarding, and sometimes chaotic side of Hilltop Haven with you!

🥕☀️ Beating the heat, one carrot at a time! 🐴💦

These hot summer days call for a little extra love and some refreshing treats! Our horses have been enjoying plenty of water, shade, and of course… lots of carrots! 🥕❤️

Hilltop Haven Farm / F&R Sunburst Equestrian Payment policy 2026

Horseback Riding Lesson Payment Policy

Thank you for choosing our horseback riding program! To ensure a smooth and fair experience for all clients, please review our payment policy below:

Lesson Fees
• The cost for each horseback riding lesson is $40.00 CAD per session when paid in cash.
• Payments made via e-transfer will be subject to applicable taxes.

Payment Methods
• Accepted forms of payment:
• Cash (preferred; no additional charges)
• E-transfer (taxes will be added to the lesson fee)

Payment Timing
• Payment is due at the time of the lesson, unless otherwise arranged in advance.
• E-transfer payments should be sent prior to the lesson or immediately following the session.

Cancellations & Missed Lessons
• A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
• Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a full lesson charge.
• No-shows will be charged the full lesson fee.

Late Arrivals
• Lessons will end at the scheduled time. Late arrivals may result in a shortened session without a reduced fee.

General Policy
• By booking a lesson, clients agree to this payment policy.
• Policies may be updated periodically; clients will be notified of any changes.
