Meet your farmers! 🌱

Mark and Carolyn Uher of Mara Valley Produce grow certified organic vegetables and berries on the Shuswap River in Grindrod, on the traditional unceded territory of the Secwepemc and Syilx peoples.

We’re proud to partner with Mark and Carolyn as one of our founding farms at The Food Shed.

Since July, The Food Shed has been moving food. 🌱

🥕 6,400+ lbs of local produce received from our founding farms
📦 20,000+ lbs of recovered food distributed through our Recovered Food Access Program, with priority given to rural food banks

We’ve also started delivering food to community organizations like Shuswap Food Action Society and Good Food Box. Through their participation, our Regional Community Food Hub spokes are putting dollars back into the local food economies and communities they serve.

The program has supported the distribution of more than 20,000 lbs of food generously contributed by North Okanagan Gleaners Society, The Central Okanagan Food Bank, and the Lake Country Food Bank. TFS is excited to act as a supporting partner of Lake Country Food Bank’s Helping Through Sharing Network by providing additional storage and distribution capacity.

We’re so excited for the coming months and to share what’s to come with The Food Shed programs!

Set to launch September 2026 in Armstrong, BC! Land to Table Network Society is thrilled to introduce The Food Shed.

Our mission is clear: Local Food for Local Communities 🍏 We're working to connect regional food producers with agency partners and schools through a warehouse that helps to ensure year-round access to fresh, affordable, locally grown food.

Land to Table Network Society is thrilled to launch The Food Shed. It's a community-focused food storage, processing, packing, and distribution hub set to open in Armstrong, BC in 2026.

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial, logistics-minded Food Shed Manager to lead us toward a September 2026 launch date - when we bring this infrastructure to life. If you’re passionate about local food and farms, love the idea of building something from the ground up, and want to shape a project that will strengthen food security across our region, we’d love to hear from you.
