Autumn is in full swing here in Armstrong! Between the changing leaves, Halloween prep, and cozy hot chocolate, this season also brings a deeply important time for Remembrance and Gratitude.
As Canadians, we are incredibly grateful for the freedoms we enjoy every day. Those freedoms exist because of the immense sacrifices made by veterans in the past, and the service members who continue to protect us today.
Right here in our town, the Armstrong Legion (Branch 35) does amazing work supporting local veterans and keeping our community connected.
Here is how we can all stand up for those who stood up for us this month:
• Wear a Poppy: The annual Poppy Campaign is officially underway! Pick yours up at local donation tables or right here at the store.
• Reflect: Next time you pass Memorial Park, take a moment at the beautiful Veterans Commemorative Crosswalk to honor our local heroes.
• Remember: Whether you have served or not, please keep our veterans and their families in your thoughts.
Let’s show our local veterans the appreciation they deserve. Stop by, grab your poppy, and help us keep the legacy of remembrance alive in Armstrong!
