Wild Acres mission is to breed & preserve rare heritage chickens,waterfowl, Nubian goats & Komondors.

Wild Acres is located in Armstrong, British Columbia, Canada. Since 2012 our small family-owned breeder farm has been selling and showing heritage chicks, ducklings, turkey poults, goslings, hatching eggs, registered Nubian dairy goats and purebred livestock guardian Komondor dogs. Our colourful free range eating eggs are sold year-round at our farm gate.
-We select for temperament, vigor, egg co

lour and work towards the American Poultry Association Breed Standards in our breeding program.
-We do not vaccinate our poultry but believe in a more holistic approach such as providing more whole grains, vegetables, fruit, kelp, herbs, vitamins and apple cider vinegar to our flocks diet.
-We constantly nurture our growing permaculture food forest and our animals are benefitting from free ranging in this enriched and protective environment.
-Our chickens are only put into their breeding pens in April, May and June for breeding and egg collection.
-In July we release our birds so that they can free range again in mixed flocks and enjoy the benefits of finding their own berries, herbs, fruit and insects.
-Therefore, availability of hatching eggs and unsexed chicks (approximately 50% male and 50% female) is limited to a very short time in the spring.
-Our website www.wildacres.ca has an online store and price/breed list but availability of stock varies from year to year as our breeding flocks are smaller.
-We accept pre-orders starting on Nov. 1st of each year via our online store.
-Deposits and payments are made through Interac email transfers after your order has been placed.
-We do not accept Visa, personal cheques or money orders.
- Hatching eggs are pre-ordered and can be picked up at our farm gate by appointment or shipped to BC, YT, AB, SK and MB via Xpresspost when they become available in April, May and June.
-We no longer ship hatching eggs to ON, QC or the eastern provinces due to shipping delays, cost factors and other circumstances.
-There are no refunds on hatching eggs or guarantees that the poultry or waterfowl purchased will become show quality.
-All unsexed chicks, ducklings, poults and or goslings are pre-ordered and hatched in small batches for sale in May and June. They are picked up at our farm gate by appointment on Sunday afternoons when we have them available.
-We do practice biosecurity protocols with our flock and we do not allow customers into our breeding pens.
-We cull all birds that do not meet our standards or show weaknesses.
-We do not take back any poultry or waterfowl once they leave our property.
-We do not sell pullets, roosters nor other adult birds.
-We do not ship hatching eggs or poultry to other countries.
-We care about our animals' welfare and we want them to be happy in their new homes. So, please check out our website information pages at https://wildacres.ca/ on hatching eggs, raising chicks and caring for poultry, waterfowl and Nubian goats.

Born Aug 29. The 2 little black ones may be younger - I rescued them from my black berry bushes - they were abandoned. The mom of the others took them on.
