Because of the air quality here in the North Okanagan we have been eating meals indoors when normally we would be staying outside even once the work is done.

Farmers, as well as firefighters and first responders, have to work outdoors regardless of how good or bad the air is, and we are grateful for the work that all of these people in such trying times.

We have been trying to find joy in what the farm produces, and to not take for granted the moments of peace that we have, because both the Bradley Creek fire and the Bald Range fire showed us how quickly things can change.

Here we made bbq’d butt steaks - grilled hot and then wrapped in foil to rest for quite a while before slicing and eating on tostadas.

Ordering is open and this week we will be heading to Kelowna on Saturday, as well as packing orders tomorrow for pickup here on the farm outside Armstrong.

Penticton Farmers Market CANCELED due to the Summerland wildfire.

If possible please stay out of the City of Penticton in order to allow evacuees to reach reception centres and lodging.
