After a bit of a break, I’ve been busy making beautiful goats milk soap again! It smells amazing in here with all the essential oils and flower petals. After focusing on music stuff for the past 6 months, I found some time to get into the studio and get back to making soap. I will have some soap for sale here in the next weeks for your holiday gift giving pleasure. I’ll have a special deal on six packs. Next on my list to make is my ever-popular Mary Jane Pain Salve!

Our boy Winston beat cancer!! He had his leg amputated early January due to osteosarcoma. He’s the best boy ever. He’s doing extremely well, especially at the age of 13. We love him so much and any amount of extra time with him is cherished. So yes, now we have 2 tripod dogs, plus one of the four legged variety! Pepita, Winston and Mazzy are all loving their favourite season. ❄️❄️❄️

The Fruition of Mel and Ruby’s Homestead

It all started in our city backyard sitting in lawn chairs. We described to each other the ideal life situation. A country life, growing carrots and digging our hands in the earth and building a straw-bale home. We built a small off-grid cabin and lived there, off grid, for a year while we built our straw-bale home. Now we have goats, chickens, ducks, bees, a giant garden and happy hearts. We grow most of our own food each year on our Vegetarian Homestead in the RM of Eagle Creek. We provide eggs, veggies, garlic and honey to a number of families. We make goats milk soap and medicinal healing salves. WWOOFers are welcome to spend time on our Homestead. We are open to all sorts of trades, we welcome visitors, and we are always eager to learn. We are passionate about preserving natural prairie habitat, having harmonious relationships with our animals, cultivating community, learning homesteading skills and growing heirloom seeds.
