Some pictures bring you JOY because they're pretty.

Others bring you JOY because they represent a life I thought had passed me by.

I lived most of my life in a small rural city. I worked jobs I could find that still allowed me to be there for my sons on the autism spectrum. My relatives all lived on farms and ranches, but I did not have that kind of money. Mom and dad sold their land.

I am truly living the dream ❤️

🦋 Wonderful Days of JOY Challenge! Day 2 of 30! 🦋

This picture brings me SO much JOY because before I met Willie, I was only a cat person❤️

Our dog had pups and I ended up being their main caregiver. We kept two, Willie and Pandora. Willie was a big, fat puppy and he whimpered in his sleep. I would pick him up and rock him like a baby. When he settled I’d put him back with his litter mates.

He is named after William Wallace, great defender of Scotland. Willie is a great defender and guardian of our ranch.

🦋 Wonderful Days of JOY Challenge! Day 1 of 30! 🦋

This picture brings me SO much JOY because of the story behind it. ❤️

Hanging out with adult children is the greatest feeling in the world. We were out with my mom, brought along a picnic lunch, and spent the day walking around the river, sitting in the shade, and, for my son, fishing.

Why is this a great day and memory? I was already struggling with fibromyalgia without knowing what was wrong, and also working a minimum 50 hour week. Stolen moments such as this are precious.

Mom is gone. I live hours away from all my sons.

Some pictures bring you JOY because they're pretty.

Others bring you JOY because they hold a whole lifetime of memories.

This one is definitely the second kind. ❤️
