We have been busy around here trying to get the crops off the field but all this rain is not making it easy. So we switched gears this week and pulled all the bulls from our commercial herd pastures and processed all our purebred calves.

This year we were able to separate all our bull calves and heifer calves. The bulls were given a creep all summer while the heifers were given oats for about a month before weaning.

Bull average weight: 810 lbs
Heifer average weight: 663 lbs

The bulls are a very even group this year with all 9 bulls within 75 lbs of each other.

We also started getting animals ready for Manitoba Ag Ex! Come for a visit October 28-31 in Brandon,MB!

We have had a busy last few weeks around here.

We started with showing at the Treherne fair. All of them showed well and we walked away with reserve heifer calf!

Then Megan and Shaelyn were very excited to be asked to judge the Oakville and Portage 4-H Clubs achievement day on July 2. We learned a lot and had a great time!

Lastly, we showed at the Carberry fair this past Sunday. All the animals showed well again and Kendra and Megan had quite a fun time in the ring for adult showmanship!

Morgan loves showing off her favourite heifer Chic Fancy Nancy 3N and she already is getting so much more confident in the ring with her cattle at just 2 1/2 years old!

On Saturday the family had a great time golfing at the 2026 YFC fundraising golf tournament in Neepawa!

This is an organization that is very close to us as a business and family. We are happy that we can use our business to sponsor a hole and support the youth in our community.
