What does it look like when a fibre system comes together?

WARP Weave A Real Peace - WARP Annual Gathering 2026, June 24-28 in Guelph.

The Annual Gathering brings together fibre farmers, artists, designers and researchers from around the world, all asking how land, fibre and community has a naturally deep connection.

This year, that conversation is being shaped largely by Ontario.

Ontario Fibreshed members will be part of the program, sharing work that spans the full fibre system:

Deborah Livingstone-Lowe Upper Canada Weaving and Wave Weir Wave Fibre Mill will be rethinking cloth and fashion production, rooted in local sourcing, small-scale manufacturing and building systems that start with the farm.
Helen Knibb, Jennifer Osborne All Sorts Acres, Mel Ramsay Lickety Spit Fibre Farm and Lindsey Weber will join a panel focused on re-imagining the Ontario wool value chain. From fibre husbandry to product innovation, partnerships are essential to create innovation.

These are the conversations we have with our fibreshed members. We look at infrastructure, value and what it takes to rebuild a regional fibre economy.

As part of the Gathering, participants will also have the opportunity to experience a rural fibre tour at Wellington Fibres.
Fibreshed will also be hosting an information table at the evening market on June 25 at 5:30 to 9:30 pm at the University of Guelph. The marketplace is a celebration of the Canadian Artisan, featuring artists, fibre farms, and guilds from across Ontario. It is an opportunity to connect face-to-face with makers, support regional fibre economies, and discover extraordinary work you simply wonโ€™t encounter anywhere else.

If youโ€™ve been following along, supporting local fibre, or wondering how to connect, this is the work our members are doing every day.

Adopted

** You can meet Yoda at Pet Valu Guelph West on Paisley Road! **

Yoda is almost 5 years old and was surrendered because he was having fights with another big male cat in the home. Since coming to New Hope he has been fine with all the cats he has been housed with, but he should probably go to a home that has no other male cats. He is a great big softy, very loving and affectionate and very chill. We think he would be fine with kids and quite possibly with dogs too. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and his adoption fee is $200. Contact us at 519-836-9780 (Monday-Friday 8am-1pm only) or by email at [email protected] if you want to make Yoda part of your family!

Avoid heavy raking in late winter & early spring โ€” because beneath those leaves, life is quietly waiting to bloom. ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ
Hidden in the soil, the queen bumblebee rests, preparing to rebuild an entire colony.
Bumblebee queens spend months overwintering under leaf litter, surviving cold to protect the next generation.
Disturbing these natural shelters too early can unknowingly destroy future pollinators.
A simple choice โ€” leaving some leaves behind โ€” can help save thousands of bees.
Sometimes, doing less for your garden means doing more for nature. ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŒฑ
